Village Layout, Culture and History
An oval village layout is a compact form of settlement: in Rzeczenica, the buildings form a closed ring around a central square. Here, the term describes the layout of the village, not a single attraction. Those interested in the structure of smaller villages can use it as a specific starting point for exploring Rzeczenica.
The Gminne Centrum Kultury, Sportu, Turystyki i Rekreacji is located in the centre of Rzeczenica, near the intersection of the Człuchów–Koszalin and Czarne–Przechlewo roads. The centre organises cultural events as well as workshops and courses for children and young people. It also manages the Orlik sports complex in Rzeczenica. Another cultural point of interest is the parish church of Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa i św. Mikołaja. It is listed as a historic building under registration number A-1637; the listing dates from 11 July 1997.
Cycling Routes and Nature Trail
The cycling route between Rzeczenica and Rzewnica is about 3.7 kilometres long and leads directly to the Tourist Complex in Rzewnica. The Rzewnica cycling route network is a separate route: it runs along the shore of Lake Szczytno Wielkie and connects GwieĹşdzin, Rzewnica, Rzeczenica and Koprzywnica. If you are looking for a specific connection, you can use the route with a stated distance as a guide; the lakeside network, by contrast, links several places.
The Bukowa Dolina nature trail has a different focus. It is two kilometres long and runs through a stand of beech and hornbeam trees. The trail thus combines a manageable distance with a clearly defined forest type. The seasonal appearance of the woodland may vary.
The Kaczy Dołek viewpoint is located on Lake Szczytno. A viewing platform there offers a view of the lake; the viewpoint can be reached from Rzewnica on foot or by bicycle. For this destination, the focus is on two ways of getting there and a specific viewpoint.
Lakeside Attractions and Seasonal Planning
Rzewnica is now formally part of Rzeczenica. The beach there is the municipality’s only supervised open-air swimming area during the summer season. If you are planning a beach visit, bear in mind that it is seasonal and check the specific dates in advance.
Every year on 3 May, cyclists meet at Kaczy Dołek for a family bike ride that starts and ends in Rzeczenica. Check the current programme before planning your visit around the event. The Rzewnicki Paintball Park’s paintball field is also located on the shore of Lake Szczytno Wielkie.
Pedal boats and rafts for trips on the lake are available at the jetties in Rzewnica.
