When planning a trip to Jeżewo Nowe, you can include hiking and kayaking routes in the wider region around your accommodation in your plans. They differ in length, trail marking colour, mode of travel and connection to national parks. You can first decide whether you would like to consider a shorter hiking route, a much longer park link or a kayaking trip with a described multi-day timeframe.
Hiking trails by length and connection to parks
The yellow-marked Łukasz Górnicki Hiking Trail is 20 km long and connects Narwiański National Park with Biebrzański National Park via Tykocin. This makes it the shorter of the three hiking routes described, and the one where Tykocin lies on the link between two national parks. If you first look at park connections when planning, you can consider this 20 km route a link between the two areas. The yellow marking also makes it easy to distinguish from the blue- and red-marked trails.
The blue-marked Queen Bona Hiking Trail is 75 km long and starts in Tykocin. This is a different connection to the town than on the Łukasz Górnicki Trail: there, the route passes through Tykocin, while here, Tykocin is the starting point. So the two trails cannot be distinguished solely by the fact that they share the same place name. Their different lengths and Tykocin’s respective role give you specific points of comparison when weighing a shorter link against a longer hiking route.
At 210 km, the red-marked Podlaski Stork Trail is the longest of the three hiking routes. It connects Biebrzański, Narwiański and Białowieski National Parks. It therefore differs from the 20 km link both in length and in connecting three national parks rather than two. The park names make the route’s focus clear; it may be of interest to travellers who want to include these three national parks in their route planning.
Kayaking trip with a multi-day timeframe
The 50 km Rozlewiskami Narwi kayaking route runs entirely through Narwiański National Park and is described as taking two to three days to complete. This gives you a timeframe as well as a distance to consider when planning your trip. While two of the hiking trails connect several national parks, the kayaking route stays within one park. The two-to-three-day estimate makes it clear that this is a multi-day option and helps distinguish it from the hiking routes when planning your stay. As a rough calculation: spread over two days, that would be 25 kilometres per day; over three days, around 17 kilometres.
Before setting out on a hike, also check the condition of the trail markings, and check the current conditions for kayaking before your trip.
