In the associated municipality, DinoPark Kołacinek broadens the range of themes with fairy-tale characters, dinosaurs and exhibitions about prehistoric times. This means Dmosin’s architectural history and the park’s various themes can be considered as separate aspects of a stay.

Parish Church: Construction and Later Expansion

St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Church was built in 1728 and consecrated in 1761. The consecration took place under the patronage of Saint Andrew the Apostle and Saint Margaret, virgin and martyr. The construction year and consecration year mark different stages: the first dates the building’s construction, while the second marks its ecclesiastical consecration. The two patron saints are the saints to whom the church is dedicated.

A further construction phase followed between 1925 and 1930. During these years, the church was expanded with two side aisles and two entrance porches. These additions belong to a much later phase than the construction and consecration. The chronology therefore follows a clear sequence: construction in the 18th century, followed by consecration and then expansion in the 20th century. Those interested in church architecture will find not just a single construction date here, but several dated stages of development.

Manor Traces by the River Bridge

Another part of the town’s history can be seen by the river bridge. The remains of the former manor complex are located there: a surviving brick mill from the 1920s and the ruins of the manor house. The manor house was made of larch wood and burned down in the spring of 2002. The mill and manor house thus represent different forms of preservation: a brick building has survived from the mill, while only ruins remain of the manor house. This contrast makes the manor traces tangible without placing the two components in the same period.

DinoPark Kołacinek in the Associated Municipality

The educational fairy-tale trail “Bajkowa Ścieżka” features characters from fairy tales. The Mesozoic trail takes a different approach, with life-size dinosaur figures and displays about dinosaur life. The historic park also showcases specimens of trees and plants. The two trails therefore have different themes: fairy-tale characters on one hand, and dinosaurs and plant specimens on the other.

The interactive exhibition “Świat Prehistorii” in the 3D hall offers another perspective. It is visited with a guide and includes a dinosaur tunnel, a volcano and a Pteranodon nest. Unlike the Mesozoic trail, which features life-size dinosaur figures, the focus here is on a guided interactive exhibition.

The “Świat Lodu” exhibition shares information about Pleistocene mammals and the Ice Age. The geological and palaeontological exhibition displays fossils millions of years old, including ammonites, trilobites, sponges and belemnites, as well as halite from the salt mine in Kłodawa. The exhibitions thus focus on different subjects: Ice Age mammals on one hand, and fossils and halite on the other.

When making your choice, you can consider Dmosin’s history and the DinoPark’s themes separately. In Dmosin, the focus is on the parish church’s construction phases and the different states of the manor remains; at DinoPark, the themes range from fairy tales and dinosaurs to the Ice Age and fossils. This provides several clearly distinct points of interest for a stay without combining them into a single visit itinerary.
