Jaroszowice lies on the northern slopes of Jaroszowicka GĂłra in the eastern part of the Little Beskids. A significant part of the area is forested. Several routes offer a practical way to explore the landscape: they lead to a mountain summit, pass through different parts of the village or cross Jaroszowicka GĂłra. There are also chapels with a variety of figures and architectural styles.

Hiking and cycling trails

A route marked in yellow and black starts in Jaroszowice, just beyond the bridge over the Skawa. From there, it takes about 1.5 hours to reach the summit of Jaroszowicka GĂłra, at 541 metres above sea level. The approximate time refers to this section up to the summit. This gives you both a specific starting point and a named destination when planning your route.

The Romea Strata pilgrimage route also passes through Jaroszowice. Its 20-kilometre section within Wadowice Municipality also runs through Wadowice, Chocznia, Zawadka and Ponikiew. Within the municipality, the route passes, among other places, over Jaroszowicka GĂłra. It thus connects several named places and complements the local mountain route with a longer section.

For cycling, the route marked “Czarny” is another option: it runs from Wadowice via Zawadka and Jaroszowice to Klecza Dolna and is 9.5 kilometres long. Unlike the approximate 1.5-hour estimate for the mountain route, this figure describes the length of a cycling route. This lets you distinguish between the two routes based on their respective planning details, without treating time and distance as equivalent.

Wadowice Trails and Jaroszowicka GĂłra

In the vicinity of Jaroszowice, the modern Wadowice Trails singletrack complex opened on the slopes of Jaroszowicka GĂłra in June 2026. The complex comprises an uphill route and four downhill lines, ranging from an easy family route to a trail for experts. Powsinoga is the uphill route on the western slopes of Jaroszowicka GĂłra and leads to the summit of the complex. The different trail profiles show that the trails are designed for different ability levels.

There is also a designated car park in the Jaroszowicka GĂłra area, which serves as a starting point for Wadowice Trails. Visitors continue from there by bicycle to the trails. Important for planning: the trails are in the vicinity of Jaroszowice, and the designated car park in the Jaroszowicka GĂłra area serves as a starting point for Wadowice Trails.

Chapels in the village

The chapels in Jaroszowice differ in their dedications, figures and locations. In the centre, on the road to Wadowice, stands a chapel containing a 19th-century figure of Christ at the Column. Another brick chapel is dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help and dates from the first half of the 19th century. A brick pillar chapel with a figure of Christ at the Column stands in front of the cemetery entrance.

Two other pillar chapels in the centre contain a figure of Our Lady of the Rosary. One stands beside a wooden house and dates from 1903; it also has a stone cross. The other is near property No. 115 and dates from 1908. Together, these buildings offer several specific details to look out for when exploring the village’s history, distinct from the hiking and cycling routes.

Wadowice as a distinct urban setting

Wadowice also offers its own cultural and walking attractions; these belong to the town and should be distinguished from the features of Jaroszowice. The Karol Wojtyła Route in Wadowice is about 4.5 kilometres long and leads to 14 stops associated with the childhood and youth of John Paul II. Galicyjskie Wadowice is about five kilometres long and has 13 stops covering the town’s history during the Partitions of Poland. The similar distances represent different themes: one route focuses on a biography, the other on the town’s history.

When planning your stay, you can consider these as distinct areas of interest: the forested slopes and routes in Jaroszowice, the chapels in the village, or the themed routes in Wadowice. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Jaroszowice, this distinction can help you decide what kind of trip you want. The local route details also vary by activity and type of measure: the mountain route gives an approximate time to the summit, while the cycling route Czarny is measured in kilometres.
