Siepraw lies in the Wieliczka Foothills, on the Sieprawka stream. The town brings together a rare rock outcrop, recreational paths, churches, a local craft tradition and a ski complex. This offers a choice of focus for your stay, with landscapes, local history and winter sports side by side; each destination has a distinctly different character.

Rock Outcrop and Paths

The Kopytko rock outcrop lies on the border between Siepraw and ĹšwiÄ…tniki GĂłrne. It consists of durable Izdebnia sandstone, is approximately 20 metres long and about 3 metres high. It is one of the few rock outcrops in the Wieliczka Foothills. This combination of a specific rock type, modest dimensions and rarity makes Kopytko a distinctive landscape feature. A walking path leads there from Siepraw. If you are interested in geology as well as the churches and local history, you will find a tangible connection to the foothills here. The walking path leads to a clearly named destination, making it easy to include Kopytko as a separate natural attraction in your travel plans.

Active Recreation at Słoneczny Park

Słoneczny Park in Siepraw offers another way to spend time outdoors. The park and recreation area was created for active leisure and includes footbridges over the Sieprawka. The second phase of construction included walking and cycling paths, which opened in 2020. The park therefore offers routes for walks and bike rides. Use of the facility is subject to regulations; please take this requirement into account when visiting. The park offers a different kind of recreation from the walk to the rock outcrop: here, paths and bridges shape a landscaped recreation area, while Kopytko is a single geological feature.

Churches and Local History

Siepraw has two distinct points of religious interest. The wooden filial Church of St Martin dates from the first half of the 17th century. The parish church is a separate site: on 19 March 2004, it was elevated to a shrine dedicated to Blessed Aniela Salawa. The shrine was intended as a special place for prayers for her canonization. Four generations of her fellow townspeople worked to spread the cult of Blessed Aniela Salawa; since the shrine was established, this has taken place in Siepraw. Thus, a 17th-century church building and a religious event from 2004 represent different periods in the town’s history.

Local crafts also offer insight into Siepraw’s history. The town is known for making brushes and brooms. This craft developed during the interwar period as an additional source of income. This historical context shows that brush and broom making is significant not only as a product, but also as part of the local history of employment. Together with the churches, it broadens the picture of Siepraw beyond its landscape and recreational activities.

Winter Sports in Siepraw

The Siepraw Ski complex provides another distinct focus. It has five ski lifts and five ski runs. The runs vary in difficulty and range from 70 to 350 metres in length. This makes it possible to choose routes based on both difficulty and length. The complex also includes a winter playground for children. For planning a winter-themed stay, Siepraw therefore offers a dedicated winter sports facility alongside the rock outcrop, paths and cultural attractions.
