Sławica lies among forests and lakes on the edge of the “Puszcza Zielonka” Landscape Park. This makes nature and outdoor activities a clear focus for a stay: hiking trails run through the recreational areas, and a marked cycling route passes through the village. When looking for accommodation, you can start by planning around your preferred activity—cycling, hiking or fishing at Jezioro Borowe.
Hiking among recreational areas and lakes
A hiking trail through Sławica’s recreational areas passes holiday homes and the “Zacisze” allotment gardens before reaching the built-up part of the village. It also passes Jezioro Borowe along the way. The same route therefore takes in recreational areas, allotment gardens and a lakeshore before reaching the built-up area.
Jezioro Gackie is nearby. The 29-hectare lake lies in the buffer zone of the “Puszcza Zielonka” Landscape Park and is heavily used for recreation. It can be seen from the route, beyond the “Zacisze” allotment gardens in Sławica. Jezioro Borowe and Jezioro Gackie are therefore distinct points of reference for finding your way around: the hiking trail passes Jezioro Borowe, while Jezioro Gackie is nearby.
Comparing cycling and hiking
Routes can be compared by mode of travel and total length: the blue hiking trail from Dziewicza Góra to Sława Wlkp. is 37.4 kilometres long; the Duży Pierścień Rowerowy is 51.8 kilometres long. Both pass through Sławica, but one is a hiking route and the other a cycling route. Each distance refers to the route named.
For cyclists, connections between routes are also relevant. The cycling network of Puszcza Zielonka and its surroundings, which includes the Duży Pierścień Rowerowy passing through Sławica, connects with the Poznań–Wągrowiec railway line, car parks, the Pierścień Rowerowy wokół Poznania, and the EuroVelo 2 and 9 long-distance cycling routes. These connections can make it easier for visiting cyclists to reach the cycling routes in Puszcza Zielonka and return. For specific planning, you can check current train and parking connections.
At Jezioro Borowe and in the village
Fishing is possible at Jezioro Borowe after obtaining the required permit; the lake belongs to the PZW. Before fishing, check where the permit can currently be obtained. This makes it possible to plan the activity specifically, without limiting a visit to the lake to the hiking route alone.
In September 2019, junior anglers competed at Jezioro Borowe in Sławica for the cup of Alojzy Pacholski, honorary chairman of the fishing club. The following day, 21 adult anglers, including one woman, took part in a competition for the cup of Zbigniew Kujawa, chairman of the Skoki Municipal Council. These two competitions are clearly dated examples from the history of fishing at the lake.
A football pitch and a playground are among Sławica’s recreational facilities; check the local conditions before using them. In 2026, the municipality announced a project to expand the playground.
