Kobylec can be explored through several distinctly different interests: a signposted cycling tour passes through the village, while other routes follow Lake Kobyleckie or the road to Kamienica. There is also the Blessed John Paul II Church, with its history of construction and founding, as well as recreational activities for play, sports and water.

Cycling Tours and Routes

The signposted Wągrowiec–Aleja Brzozowa (Szeroki Dukt)–Bukowiec–Danabórz–Kobylec–Durowo–Wągrowiec cycling tour is listed as 22 km long. In this order, it leads from Wągrowiec through several stops to Kobylec and back to Wągrowiec. A 3 km alternative via Kobylec–Bartodzieje–Wągrowiec is also listed. The two routes differ considerably in length and course: one describes a longer tour through several places, while the other is a shorter route via Bartodzieje. This lets you choose based on the waypoints you want to visit and the stated distance.

Two other routes have their own courses. Pętla Bukowiecka is 11 km long, runs around Lake Kobyleckie and starts in Kobylec. It follows Plażowa Street, turns east and runs along the southern edge of a forest. The 10 km Kobylec–Kamienica route starts at the intersection of Wągrowiecka and Plażowa streets. It then follows Gajowa Street and Osiedle Bajkowe before turning towards Kamienica. Here, the distance is not the only factor in choosing: Pętla Bukowiecka follows the lake, while the destination and route to Kamienica are specified by named streets.

Church and Local History

The Blessed John Paul II Church is a cultural and religious focal point in Kobylec. It is a branch church of the Parish of St. Wojciech in Wągrowiec and was built from October 2010 to December 2013. As a votive offering from the parish community and the Archdiocese of Gniezno, it is dedicated to the life and pontificate of John Paul II and his elevation to the honours of the altars. The specific construction period and the three-part dedication tell different aspects of the church’s history: when it was built and what its religious significance relates to. This provides a distinct cultural and historical reason to visit, alongside the landscape-oriented routes.

Play, Sports and Water

Local recreational facilities include a playground with rope features and multi-purpose sports courts at the Orlik sports complex. Kobylec also has a supervised bathing area, as well as the Anakonda water slide. The playground and sports courts offer opportunities for play and exercise, while the bathing area and slide provide two distinct ways to enjoy the water. You can include these different activities separately in your plans for your stay. If you plan to visit the bathing area, check the current opening hours in advance.
