Bosschenhoofd combines a signposted walking route with woodland, local history and the airfield. There is also an aviation museum, skydiving and activities at Maple Farm Adventures. The area offers different options for planning your stay: you can focus on the route through the village and the Pagnevaartbos, or explore the activities at Breda International Airport in more detail.

Walking between the village, woodland and history

The Bosschenhoofd–Seppe walking route starts in Bosschenhoofd and follows a well-signposted network of numbered junctions through the village streets. It passes through the Pagnevaartbos, a wooded area with winding paths. Sparrowhawks, hobbies and woodpeckers can be found there. Along the way, village streets alternate with the winding paths of the Pagnevaartbos.

There is also a historic landmark along the route: it passes the old Retraitehuis, a monastery building in the neo-Gothic style. For more than a century, it served as a refuge for people seeking spiritual peace. On this same walking route, nature meets a history closely connected to the building’s former purpose as a place of retreat. If you appreciate local history as well as woodland and paths on a walk, this section offers a specific cultural point of interest.

Airfield, museum and skydiving

The walking route reaches Seppe Airfield, now known as Breda International Airport. Several gliding clubs are based there. The Vliegend Museum Seppe is also located at the airport, at Pastoor van Breugelstraat 93E, 4744 RC Bosschenhoofd. The aircraft on display include a replica of a Royal Air Force (RAF) Spitfire PR.IV bearing the designation AA804. Individual aircraft exhibits may vary; check the latest visitor information before travelling.

Skydive ENPC offers skydiving at Breda International Airport in Bosschenhoofd. The entire activity takes about an hour and a half, from arrival at the airfield to landing and watching the video afterwards. So it includes more than the jump itself. Allow extra time for the weather or the activity schedule. This gives you a better idea of how much time to set aside without treating the approximate duration as a fixed schedule.

More activities and choosing a hotel

Maple Farm Adventures complements the nature and aviation attractions with an outdoor climbing playground in a green setting. It has climbing frames, slides and other play equipment for different age groups and ability levels. The climbing park is located in Bosschenhoofd at Roosendaalsebaan 4a, between Breda and Roosendaal, near Rucphen and Etten-Leur, next to the A58. This offers a different kind of activity alongside the walk and the airfield.

If you are looking for a hotel in Bosschenhoofd, your preferred focus can help guide your choice: the walking route starts in the village and leads to the airfield; the museum and skydiving are based there, while Maple Farm Adventures is also in Bosschenhoofd. First consider whether the walking route, aviation or climbing playground should be the main focus of your stay.
