Alongside the town’s religious landmark, these provide tangible points of interest for recreation and community life.
A community event in Bajos del Ejido included the creation of a mural about the culture of peace. As part of the same event, a ballet group from Costa Grande performed a traditional dance. The occasion thus combined visual art with a performance.
Earlier cultural events also offer various points of interest. A caravan through five municipalities, including Bajos del Ejido, was planned for the 7th Encuentro de Teatro Juan Álvarez in 2011. Contingents from Bajos del Ejido also took part in the opening parade of the Feria de la Palmera in 2016. One was a planned route through several municipalities; the other was participation in a parade.

Regional Cuisine and Getting Around
Guinatán is a popular fish dish in the municipality of Coyuca de Benítez. It is prepared in a thick broth with red chili and ground coconut. Chilate and Tuba are also traditional drinks in the municipality: Chilate is made with cocoa, cinnamon, and toasted rice, while Tuba is obtained from the coconut palm. The regional specialties thus differ both in form—fish dish or drink—and in their ingredients.
For getting around, the Bajos del Ejido–Tixtlancingo road is one of the most important roads in the municipality of Coyuca de Benítez.
