The Graal-Müritz pier is 350 metres long, while the spa forest offers a completely different focus. There is also local history, cultural events and activities along the paved promenade. When choosing a hotel, one question can help: Would you like nature, history or specific event dates to shape your stay? The attractions offer different pointers for planning, without requiring you to limit your trip to a single theme.

Nature and interactive experiences

The Graal-Müritz spa forest is a 13-hectare natural area and has been officially recognised as a spa forest since 19 April 2020. It is open all year round, at any time, and free to access. The forest is home to the mindfulness trail, which opened in April 2025 and features six interactive stations with QR code exercises. Another activity is the sound forest, where visitors can create gentle sounds using instruments made from wood and other natural materials. This means you can choose between exercises at the stations and making sounds yourself—two different reasons to include the spa forest in your travel plans.

The Graal-Müritz Discovery Trail runs along the paved promenade. Oversized models showcase Baltic Sea animals and plants, while illustrated information panels explain their way of life and distinctive features. If you are interested in the nature of the Baltic Sea, this is an informative complement to the interactive attractions in the spa forest. The two trails have different focuses: the mindfulness trail offers stations and QR code exercises, while the Discovery Trail provides information about animals and plants.

Local history and culture

The Graal-Müritz local history museum presents the town’s history and culture. Topics include its founding, the living and working conditions of its residents, the development of the spa industry, and storm surges in which Graal-Müritz lost three piers. This places the town’s development and the history of its piers within the same historical context. The museum also honours painters and writers who spent their summers in Graal-Müritz: Professor Müller-Kaempf, Professor Karl Rettich, Lyonel Feininger, Hans Fallada, Franz Kafka and Erich Kästner.

The rhododendron park also combines a historical aspect with a cultural offering. It has been a protected monument since December 1986. Readings and concerts are held in the park’s concert pavilion. If you would like to include such events in your travel plans, check the specific dates during your stay. This will help you decide whether an event or the park itself is the deciding factor in your choice.

Plan around events and travel options

The municipality of Graal-Müritz holds an annual pier festival with fireworks in July. If you are staying that month, the festival may be an important planning consideration; check the specific event dates in advance. Trips to Warnemünde on the MS Baltica can also depart from the pier. If you would like to include this trip, a current timetable will help with planning. The festival and boat trips are different reasons to check your travel dates or individual activities more closely.

If you are mainly interested in a particular event or trip, include its date or timetable in your plans.
