Several cycling routes pass through Reppelin. For your planning, it is worth looking at each route and at what can help you find your way along the way. The official circular tour from Sanitz is 36 kilometres long: it goes via Wendfeld to Reppelin, continues to Wendorf and Neu-Wendorf, and then passes through Reppelin, Stormsdorf, Zarnewanz, Tessin and Horst once more on its way back to Sanitz. The circuit therefore passes through Reppelin at two points along the route as described.

Cycling: Circular Tour and Other Routes

The 36 kilometres give you a clear framework for your day of cycling. The sequence of places also shows how the circuit extends beyond Sanitz and Reppelin. If you plan additional stops, keep the total distance in mind and arrange breaks and your day according to your own pace.

In the surrounding region, the same circular tour continues from Reppelin towards Tessin. There it reaches the Recknitzwiesen nature reserve, a canoe rental near the Recknitz Bridge and a viewpoint overlooking the Recknitz Valley. On the way back to Sanitz, it passes through the Teufelsmoor nature reserve. The route as described therefore combines cycling with named natural and scenic points; it remains a circular tour returning to Sanitz.

The ParkLand North Loop also passes through Reppelin. This route has no waymarks. So take a detailed map, a GPS device or a navigation app. The MV06 cycle route runs from Reppelin via Dettmannsdorf to Bad Sülze. Its route description was updated in 2022; surfaces and signposting may change. Check these details before your ride if you plan to take the MV06.

The three routes offer different reference points to help you choose: the 36-kilometre tour has a defined loop and total distance, the lack of markings is especially important on the ParkLand North Loop, and the MV06 is described via the places Reppelin, Dettmannsdorf and Bad Sülze. Choose the route that suits your day of cycling rather than treating the routes mentioned as one combined tour.

Meadow Festival and Book Box in Reppelin

The Reppelin Meadow Festival takes place every year on the first weekend in July. If you would like to plan your trip around the festival, check the date for the relevant year when planning. This distinguishes the recurring timing from the specific date of your visit.

The book box is located at the Reppelin community centre. It is a named point of reference in the village, regardless of which cycling route you choose for your stay.

In the wider destination of Sanitz

Sanitz also offers points of cultural and historical interest. Sanitz village church was built in the 13th century. The imposing fieldstone building has a half-timbered tower and an altar with paintings by Rudolph Suhrlandt from around 1800. The building therefore brings together a medieval construction date and later furnishings dating from around 1800.

The Old Smithy in Sanitz was first mentioned in official records in 1798 and is a late Baroque oak half-timbered building. The property is a listed monument; it cannot be viewed directly because it stands on private land. This restriction matters when planning: the smithy can be included as a topic in local history, but it is not open to visitors.

The wider destination of Sanitz also includes the manor house at Groß Lüsewitz Castle. It was built between 1896 and 1898 in the Neo-Renaissance style. A landscaped park adjoins the manor house and was extended after 1970 to include an equestrian competition ground. The Sanitz local history room is part of the Sanitz community centre.

Another option in Sanitz is the Kleine Waldrunde (Little Forest Loop). It leads north from the old village through a wooded area and along sandy clearings. Alongside the cycling routes, the wider destination of Sanitz therefore offers a named walking trail and a range of cultural and historical subjects to explore.

Accommodation to suit your planned itinerary

If you are looking for a holiday apartment, first decide which destinations will shape your stay. The 36-kilometre circular tour starts at Sanitz station and returns to Sanitz; the meadow festival takes place on the first weekend in July. This lets you choose accommodation according to your own travel plans, without automatically combining a day of cycling, a festival visit and a cultural itinerary.
