Photography technology in Rastow
The permanent “Photography Technology” exhibition is a sight in Rastow. The Dunkelkammer e. V. association preserves and expands it. The DUNKELKAMMER RASTOW Museum is a technology museum in the local community centre and is dedicated to a wide range of historic equipment.
On display are historic still and movie cameras, contact printers and laboratory equipment, as well as slide and film projectors. The collection also includes radios and televisions, tape recorders and record players. One special feature is the walk-in camera obscura: when there is enough sunlight, it projects moving, colourful images. Kraak and Fahrbinde in the municipality
Other historic destinations are in Kraak. The Johanniterkirche there houses a carved Marian altarpiece dating from around 1500. Kraak was the seat of a Johanniter commander from 1315. These two details offer different perspectives on the place: the preserved altarpiece in the church and Kraak’s historic significance as the seat of a Johanniter commander.
Kraak also has a lake by the motorway where swimming is possible, as well as a wildlife enclosure. The Kraaker Mill and a fish ladder are located in the Kraaker Tannen; Tour 15 also passes through this wooded area. This connects the names in the route description with other places in the municipality, without equating those destinations with Rastow’s town centre.
