Parmen offers three different starting points for planning a trip: a nearby swimming area at Lake Großer Parmensee, cycling routes that pass through the village, and a connection to the Am Mühlenberg motocross track of MSC Parmen. This lets you choose a focus in advance: include the swimming area, plan a bike ride or explore the motocross track. These activities do not have to form a single itinerary. You can also add other places in the wider destination of Nordwestuckermark to your selection.

Water and Cycling Routes in Parmen

There is a swimming area at Lake Großer Parmensee, near Parmen. It gives your trip planning a clear focus on the water. Three named cycling routes pass through Parmen: the Gutsherrenradtour, the Uckermärkischer Radrundweg and the Spur der Steine. Cycling is therefore a second concrete starting point for planning your stay. The names offer different route options; they should not be taken as information about distance or time required.

If you plan to take one of the cycling routes, check the current route conditions locally, as routes may change. The Spur der Steine in particular can also be considered in a broader regional context: it extends beyond Parmen through the Uckermärkische Seen Nature Park. Its length and route through several named places give it a distinct scale alongside the other two routes.

Motocross as Another Point of Interest

Parmen is also associated with the Am Mühlenberg motocross track of MSC Parmen. Event dates and operating conditions may vary. If you would like to include the track in your trip plans, check the latest dates and conditions in advance. This keeps this focus clearly distinct from a fixed activity scheduled for specific dates. Water, cycling and motocross can be considered as separate interests without combining them into a single itinerary.

More Options in the Wider Destination of Nordwestuckermark

Near Naugarten, in the wider destination of Nordwestuckermark, there is a lake of about 33 hectares owned by the municipality. It invites visitors to swim and fish; walking around it offers a nature experience. Naugarten also has bicycle and boat rental services. As availability may change, it is advisable to check locally for the latest information. Signposted, unpaved cycling and hiking trails range from short walks to longer guided tours to notable points. These are independent options in Naugarten, not features of the swimming area near Parmen.

Art can also be considered as a separate regional focus: Hof Kokurin in Naugarten is home to a gallery featuring constantly changing paintings, wooden sculptures and small works of art. In Kröchlendorff, the village’s castle church serves as a cultural and event centre. Both places add cultural destinations to the picture of Nordwestuckermark, while the options in Parmen itself focus on water, cycling routes and the motocross track.

Local History and Longer Routes in Nordwestuckermark

Fürstenwerder brings together several historical points of interest. A fieldstone wall about 1,300 metres long encloses the historic centre. The Berliner Tor and Woldegker Tor have pointed-arch gateways and are among the oldest of their kind in northern Germany. The fieldstone church dates from the mid-13th century; the local history museum focuses mainly on traditional village crafts. A promenade lined with old chestnut trees, laid out in 1900, runs around the town wall. The wall, town gates, church and museum each offer a different focus: fortifications, architectural history and crafts.

The Spur der Steine is 55 kilometres long and runs mostly along a former railway embankment through the Uckermärkische Seen Nature Park. It leads from Templin via Warthe and Boitzenburg to Fürstenwerder; in Parmen, the identically named route is one of the three cycling routes that pass through the village. This connects local route choices with the longer trail, without assuming a particular stage length or riding time.
