Casekow lies between the Randowbruch to the west and the Oder to the east. The historic sites within the municipality also extend beyond the main village: Blumberg and Wartin each bring their own church and architectural history to your travel plans. This means you can explore Casekow not only through its location, but also through its varied buildings and routes.

Churches and Architectural History in Casekow

The church in Casekow has a pulpit altar dating from 1721, with twelve oil paintings on wood depicting the apostles. The church’s brick tower was built in 1855/56. It has three storeys and is 40 metres high. The altar and tower offer distinct architectural and art-historical points of interest: a precisely dated furnishing and a striking 19th-century structure stand side by side.

Blumberg and Wartin in the Municipality of Casekow

In Blumberg, a 13th-century village church with a 45-metre-high tower dominates the centre. The church tower is considered a landmark of the Randow Valley and is visible across the surrounding area. Blumberg is also home to a manor house, a three-winged complex with a courtyard of honour. The manor estate includes a former stable dating from 1802 and a large park that extends to the Blumberger Gewerkehof. Restoration of the manor house is ongoing.

Wartin offers a different historical focus. It is home to an early Gothic village church dating from the 13th century. Wartin Castle was built in 1695 by Captain Christoph von der Osten as the manor house of the Wartin knight’s estate. The complex includes a park and garden enclosed by natural-stone and brick walls, which reach heights of up to five metres. The municipality brings together buildings from different periods and in different styles: the early Gothic village church in Wartin, the manor house in Blumberg, and the castle complex in Wartin, which originated as a manor house.

Landscape, Rail and Routes

Casekow’s location between the Randowbruch and the Oder provides its geographical context. For travel to the area, the village has a rail connection on the Berlin–Stettin line, as well as bus services to Schwedt/Oder, Prenzlau and Gartz (Oder). Timetables may change, so check connections before travelling.

The Kranichrad Tour also passes through Casekow and continues to Luckow. RE66/RB66 train services to Casekow are listed as a way to reach the tour; check the current timetable for these as well. The Moränenweg runs through Blumberg. Before setting out, check the current conditions on this route. These connections and routes offer different starting points for planning, but do not form a single circular tour.

Find a Hotel to Suit Your Trip

If you are looking for a hotel for a stay in Casekow, you can start planning by weighing up the focus of your trip: church architecture in the main village, the manor house and park in Blumberg, the history of Wartin Castle, or one of the named routes. This can help you choose accommodation and plan your days around your interests. If travelling by train or bus, check the latest timetable; if hiking the Moränenweg, check the route conditions in advance.
