A walk through the small anger village, a detour to the Dahme and the view of Dolgensee from the bridge reveal three different sides of Dolgenbrodt. Parts of the original building fabric are part of the walk; there is a place to rest by an old willow on the river. The Dahme Bridge serves both as a viewpoint and as a crossing for pedestrians and cyclists.

Anger Village, the Dahme and the Dahme Cycle Route

On a walk through the small anger village, you can see parts of the original building fabric. The walk therefore takes in not only the waterways but also the village’s architectural character. A detour to the Dahme can be combined with a rest by an old willow, where you can pause and enjoy the view over the river. The Dahme Bridge offers another viewpoint, looking out over Dolgensee.

Since 2009, residents and tourists have been able to cross the river in Dolgenbrodt on foot or by bicycle via the cable-stayed pylon bridge. The structure serves both as a river crossing and as a viewpoint. The bridge made it possible to build the Dahme Cycle Route. Its second stage continues towards Dolgenbrodt and Märkisch Buchholz.

Bathing Area on Langer See

There is a bathing area at Langer See in Dolgenbrodt, offering visitors opportunities for sports, play and relaxation. The beach is a grassy area, and there is also a volleyball court. Langer See is therefore the place for bathing and recreation, while Dolgensee has a different focus. If you plan to use the volleyball court or other facilities, check their current status before your visit, as facilities may change.

Dolgensee and Protected Landscape

Dolgenbrodt is surrounded by woodland and lies within a 6.9 km² triangular area between Langer See, which is part of the Storkow Lake Chain, and Dolgensee. The latter is designated as a nature reserve; the protected area extends across land in Dolgenbrodt and Gussow. The Dolgensee FFH site covers 308 hectares. Thus, although both lakes are part of the landscape around Dolgenbrodt, their roles as described are quite different: the bathing area is at Langer See, while Dolgensee is designated as a protected area.

The purpose of the nature reserve includes protecting rare wild plant communities that are threatened with decline, particularly the extensive shore vegetation of Dolgensee. A small floating island in the western part of the lake is also significant: it serves as a nesting area for waterbirds. These details add an ecological aspect to the landscape, distinct from the bathing area and volleyball court at Langer See.

Choose the Focus of Your Stay

When planning your trip, you can first consider what kind of outing you would like to focus on: a walk that takes in the original building fabric, crossing the Dahme Bridge and its connection to the cycle route, bathing and recreation at Langer See, or enjoying the protected landscape around Dolgensee. These options offer different points of interest and should not be taken to mean that the lakes or routes are one and the same. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Dolgenbrodt, this distinction can help you shape your stay around your own interests without assuming that any particular accommodation facilities are available.
