The Kornhaus Museum displays farming and craft tools alongside exhibitions by local artists. Weiler-Simmerberg also offers more than 100 kilometers of signposted hiking trails; Ellhofer Tobel and Hausbachklamm provide welcome cooling, especially in summer. The outdoor swimming pool adds opportunities for swimming, play and exercise to the cultural and natural attractions.

Kornhaus Museum and Brewing History

Since 1981, the ground floor of the Kornhaus Museum in Weiler im Allgäu has housed a collection of tools used by farmers and craftspeople. The upper floor hosts various exhibitions by local artists. The two floors offer complementary perspectives: the tools provide insights into agriculture and crafts, while the exhibitions put local artists in the spotlight. The Aktienbrauerei Simmerberg, founded in 1706, adds another historical dimension. Groups can book a tour on request; arrange the date and check availability directly with the brewery.

Hiking with Cool-Offs and History

The signposted trail network covers more than 100 kilometers. Ellhofer Tobel is a hiking area and, like Hausbachklamm, offers welcome cooling, especially in summer. Two other destinations offer geological and historical highlights: the Erratic Boulder is one of Europe’s largest glacial erratics. Enschenstein is believed to have been a refuge fort used by the Romans during the Alemannic invasions. The erratic boulder points to the Ice Age, while Enschenstein reflects its historical use as a place of refuge. Check current local trail conditions before setting out on a hike.

Water and Play Areas at the Outdoor Swimming Pool

The Weiler im Allgäu outdoor swimming pool has a water spray park with a covered water-play area and a large sand play area with a pirate ship and a nest swing. Other facilities include table tennis, a beach volleyball court, a slackline, a barefoot trail and an insect discovery trail. Alongside water and sand play, there are opportunities for exercise and activities focused on nature. Check current operating information before your visit, as facility details may change.
