Oberpframmern offers several ways to enjoy the outdoors during your stay: a walking and cycling path with clearly defined endpoints, field paths and ponds, as well as seasonal activities organised by TSV Oberpframmern. These options offer different experiences. You can decide whether you would rather spend your time on independent walks and bike rides or take part in an activity at a scheduled time.

Getting Around on Foot and by Bike

A clearly defined landmark is the 4.1-kilometre walking and cycling path between the western edge of Oberpframmern and the roundabout on Harthauser StraĂźe. The path was officially opened in September 2025 and can be used by pedestrians and cyclists. Its length and two endpoints provide a clearly defined framework for planning a trip. This makes it a different option from the field paths in the municipality, which are ideal for longer walks and bike rides.

Numerous field paths and a few small ponds in the eastern part of the municipality invite you to enjoy longer walks and bike rides. If you would like to spend more time outdoors, these offer a different approach to planning than the clearly defined 4.1-kilometre route: the paths and ponds encourage you to plan a longer walk or bike ride in this part of the municipality. This lets you first choose the type of activity you prefer, without combining the two options into a single route.

The hiking programme organised by TSV Oberpframmern is also of interest to visitors: non-members are explicitly welcome to take part. A hiking programme is available for 2026; individual outings and dates may change. Check which dates apply during your stay before travelling. This is helpful when planning if you would prefer an organised hike to a walk you put together yourself.

Seasonal Options and the Ebersberg Travel Destination

In winter, TSV Oberpframmern tries to prepare a cross-country ski trail in the forest, weather permitting. Cross-country skiing is therefore a seasonal option, not a guarantee. If you are planning your stay around a ski trail, check in advance whether it is available. This makes the winter options different from hiking and cycling, which are not dependent on this weather condition.

The wider Ebersberg travel destination offers its own attractions centred on the landscape and forest. Climbing the 169 steps of the observation tower in Ebersberg Forest rewards you with views across the entire foothills of the Alps, from the Berchtesgaden Alps to the Allgäu. On exceptionally clear days, you can also see distant peaks over 3,000 metres high. The Museum Wald und Umwelt (Forest and Environment Museum) has stood right next to Ebersberg Forest since 2004; it is dedicated to the history of forest use and forest ecology. In Ebersberg Forest, a panoramic experience and the study of forest history and ecology thus offer two distinct focal points.

The educational offerings in the wider Ebersberg travel destination also include the Ebersberger Forst environmental education centre. It has received the Bavarian quality seal “Umweltbildung.Bayern” and offers events focused on education for sustainable development. These take place mainly outdoors and in the adjacent forest. Visits by school classes and other groups are possible. This offers a different focus from the observation tower or museum: the emphasis is on events and education for sustainable development.

Events also add seasonal highlights to the wider Ebersberg travel destination. The Kirchseeon Perchtenlauf takes place every year during the pre-Christmas season in the market town of Kirchseeon. Masks, elaborate costumes, drums and bells are central to the event. Another annual event is the harvest festival at Herrmannsdorfer. It features specialities cooked over an open fire, porchetta, pastrami, bratwurst, freshly made Auszogne pastries and freshly tapped Schweinsbräu beer, as well as open barns and workshops. If either festival is relevant to your trip, check the specific event dates before making plans.
