Bad Rodach combines thermal baths and an outdoor pool with two cycling routes, town history and an observation tower. When planning your visit, you can balance water, exercise and culture: the routes provide a clear comparison of distances, while the local history museum and Henneberger Warte offer different cultural and scenic highlights.

Cycling, Swimming and Walking

The longer of the two cycling routes is 14 kilometres long and goes from Bad Rodach to Oettingshausen and back. A second, 12-kilometre route passes through Gauerstadt and ends back in Bad Rodach. The difference is two kilometres; check local conditions before setting out.

ThermeNatur has two indoor pools, a therapy pool and three outdoor pools with mineral water. There is also a sauna area and aqua fitness. If you are interested in aqua fitness, check the current programme with the operator.

Waldbad Bad Rodach is a seasonal outdoor swimming pool; opening dates vary. Facilities include a 50-metre pool, a designated non-swimmers’ area, a toddlers’ area with a slide and a playground.

The spa park on the ThermenhĂĽgel in Bad Rodach covers just under 12 hectares and is criss-crossed by several walking paths. So, alongside the longer cycling routes, there are also paths to choose from for a walk.

Local History Museum and Views

The local history museum is on the upper floor of the Jagdschloss – Haus des Gastes in Bad Rodach. Its collections explore the town’s history and local economy. The Rodach Local History Museum was established in 1905 with the support of the citizens of Rodach, under the direction of municipal treasurer Ferdinand Berner, and commemorates key moments in the town’s history.

The 30-metre-high Henneberger Warte has stood on the 403-metre-high Georgenberg since 1987. From there, the panoramic view stretches from the Rhön in the northwest across the Thuringian Forest and the Coburg region to the Fränkische Leuchte and Heldburg Fortress.
