Six Nordic walking circuits, a single circular route along the Wutach Dam and a skate park at the adventure playground give Lauchringen a range of different highlights. There is also a water-treading facility and a protected ensemble in the centre of Oberlauchringen. If you are planning a stay, you can first choose between several routes, a single site and a town-centre visit.

Nordic walking on six circular routes

The intermunicipal Eichberg/Wiggenberg Nordic Walking Centre was officially opened in 2004 with six circular routes. The signposted routes are between 3.5 and 12 kilometres long and run through the municipal areas of Wutöschingen, Lauchringen and Detzeln. In Lauchringen, there is a starting point at the Wiggenberg rest area. The distances give you an initial way to compare the available routes: the range from 3.5 to 12 kilometres lets you choose according to your preferred distance. The shortest and longest routes differ by 8.5 kilometres, giving you a clear sense of the range of options. Before setting off, check the local signs and current route conditions.

The “Bergweg and Wutach Dam” circular route

The 7.7-kilometre “Bergweg and Wutach Dam” circular route starts at Lauchringen outdoor swimming pool, passes the Lauffenmühle and the Reiherwald monument at Dreitälerblick, continues to Oberlauchringen and returns to the pool along the Wutach Dam. Unlike the Nordic Walking Centre, this is a single named circular route; there, you can choose from six signposted circuits of varying lengths. At 7.7 kilometres, this route falls within the 3.5-to-12-kilometre range, so you can compare the route type and distance. Before setting out, check the local signs for current conditions on this route too.

Individual places along the way and in the town centre

The water-treading facility is in flowing water, right beside the cycle and footpath on the Wutach Dam. Unlike the Bergweg, the key point here is not a circular route but its location along the path: you can include this stop as a destination in its own right if specific waypoints matter to you as well as route distances.

There is a municipal skate park at the adventure playground. It adds a facility at a named location rather than another signposted route. If you prefer to sort activities by type rather than distance, you can consider the skate park separately from the circular routes. In the centre of Oberlauchringen, the protected ensemble at Lindenplatz is one of the local points of interest. Here, the focus is on the town centre, not on a route distance or a sports facility.

The Southern Black Forest Cycle Route

Lauchringen lies on the Southern Black Forest Cycle Route, a cycling circuit of around 270 kilometres. This is on a different scale from the 7.7-kilometre Bergweg. The roughly 270 kilometres refers to the cycle route, while the 7.7 kilometres refers to the individual circuit in Lauchringen: the figures help you compare distances, but describe different types of tours.
