The Baden Wine Route and Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park meet in Kürnbach. When choosing your accommodation, it helps to consider the village’s different highlights: historical connections around the market square, a path to Schlosswiesensee, nature themes along the forest nature trail and offerings featuring regional food. This lets you decide in advance whether local history, walking trails or markets should shape your stay.

Market Square, Local History and Art

The Kürnbach Wine Village was established in September 1995, at the same time as the Kraichgau-Stromberg Wine Route opened; the market square provides its setting. Kürnbach’s street festival has been held in the historic town centre since 1975. It began to mark the completion of the market square.

At Panorama Seeblick, artist Felix Falkner visually transformed the concrete drainage structure into a ship; a steering wheel and a telescope were installed. Another trace of the past can be found in the forest on Kürnbach’s Altenberg: the original foundations of a Chartaque have been preserved there, about 50 m from the “Weitblick” installation.

During a historical tour, local guide Hans Wilhelm tells stories about the distinctive features of the former Hesse-Württemberg and later Hesse-Baden condominium; this is a private offering. The Historical Local Tour takes in more than 40 stops and introduces buildings and historical figures. This offers different ways to explore local history: a particular historical topic on the tour, or stops focused on buildings and people.

Trails Between the Town Centre, Lake and Forest

The lakeside circuit runs from the historic town centre, past the Adventure Golfpark, to Schlosswiesensee. The KB4 lakeside circuit is signposted from the market square. The forest nature trail offers a different focus and has a clearly specified starting point: it begins about 500 m east of the town centre, just beyond the “Morforster Weg” hiking car park at the end of Austraße.

The forest nature trail is a circular route about 4 km long. An information board at the starting point shows its route. More than 60 panels cover topics including tree and plant species, the age of the trees, field names, boundary stones and forest pests. A viewpoint along the forest nature trail offers a panoramic map and views across the Kraichgau. Choose between the two trails based on what you’re looking for: the lakeside circuit’s listed waypoints are the town centre, Adventure Golfpark and Schlosswiesensee; the forest nature trail offers a circular route, forest-related topics and a viewpoint.

Regional Food and Markets

At the nature park market in Kürnbach, food from direct marketers in the nature park region is on offer. The market stalls are complemented by an accompanying programme that includes picture-book cinema, hands-on activities and music. The market is held annually in the market square. Check current event dates before your trip.

The Rogate Farmers’ Market combines a farmers’ and arts and crafts market with regional specialities and a wide range of exhibitors. From May 2026, visitors can discover regional food at the GenussScheune, do their weekly shopping and enjoy small delicacies with a glass of wine. Check the current schedule before visiting. This lets you decide whether to plan your visit around a specific market date or look for food options during your stay.
