To get your bearings in Siegelsbach, it is worth considering three different things: the 17-kilometre-long Krebsbachtal Railway, the playgrounds in town, and the Fünfmühlental just outside Siegelsbach. It is important to distinguish the railway’s route from passenger services: it runs past Neckarbischofsheim, Helmhof, Untergimpern, and Obergimpern, and enters a larger wooded area near Siegelsbach. Regular passenger services have been discontinued.
Fünfmühlental and Kurtbrunnen
The Fünfmühlental lies just outside Siegelsbach and is a nature and hiking area in the region. Five of the six former mills can still be admired there. This connects the valley’s landscape with a specific reference to its milling history.
Kurtbrunnen is also located in the Fünfmühlental. It was built in 1976 by then-mayor Kurt Schüßler and named after him. The newly redesigned fountain was inaugurated in July 2020. There is a public barbecue area at Kurtbrunnen. The Siegelsbach municipal administration maintains a booking schedule for it; groups without a reservation may also be present. Check the schedule before planning your visit: bookings and availability may change, and temporary closures are possible during hot, dry summer conditions.
Playgrounds and activities in Siegelsbach
Siegelsbach has three children’s playgrounds. Children’s wishes were taken into account in their design, and robinia wood is used. The playground in the Schlosspark is equipped with a combination swing, a play tower with a slide for small children, a swing for small children, a zip line, a double seesaw, and a balance course.
There is also a playground around the sports grounds. The facilities there are complemented by a pump track, a multi-purpose court, and a calisthenics area. When planning your time in town, you can therefore distinguish the specific facilities in the Schlosspark from the activity options around the sports grounds.
More to explore in the wider Heilbronn destination
The wider Heilbronn destination offers additional regional highlights. Heilbronn district has around 1,000 kilometres of signposted circular day hikes in Kraichgau, Zabergäu, the Weinsberger Tal, and Schozach-Bottwartal. The Neckar Valley Cycle Route is also among the cycling routes highlighted there. So, alongside the Fünfmühlental nature and hiking area, the wider region offers named cycling routes as another option to consider.
Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park encompasses 25 municipalities in four districts, including Heilbronn district. Another landscape attraction in the district is Breitenauer See, the largest of the seven bathing lakes mentioned there; it is also described as the largest bathing lake in northern Württemberg.
One cultural activity in the wider Heilbronn destination is the family tour at the Römermuseum Güglingen. The 2026 events calendar lists it on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m., taking visitors through the permanent exhibition. Check the specific date before your trip.
