Enzklösterle combines two premium hiking trails of different lengths with leisure activities and the tradition of wild blueberries. The Blueberry Trail is 12.7 kilometers long and forms a circular route around the town; the Enz Spring Trail covers just under 20 kilometers and consists of three loops around Gompelscheuer. This makes it possible to plan hikes of different lengths, while the golf park, toboggan run and local blueberry offerings provide other ideas for your stay.

Two Hiking Trails, Two Scales

The Blueberry Trail starts at the Tourist Information Office, Friedenstraße 16, 75337 Enzklösterle. This premium-certified circular trail runs around Enzklösterle and leads through moss-covered rocky landscapes and wild blueberry fields. It is described as a varied hike of about four hours, with moderate climbs and different trail surfaces. Its length, approximate duration and trail profile provide concrete guidance for planning your day.

The Enz Spring Trail offers a different scale: it starts in Enzklösterle-Gompelscheuer at the source of the Great Enz, is just under 20 kilometers long and consists of three loops around the district. Kaltenbachsee is one of the trail’s highlights. In a direct comparison, the Blueberry Trail is the shorter of the two options; the Enz Spring Trail combines its greater length with a clearly defined loop structure. Visitors can also hike the Bärlochkar primeval forest experience trail in Enzklösterle.

Forests, Meadows and Rocky Landscapes

Enzklösterle lies in the northern Black Forest at an elevation of about 600 meters, amid green meadows and mighty fir forests, and on the edge of a large raised bog nature reserve. The moss-covered rocks and wild blueberry fields are part of the Blueberry Trail; they add the specific landscape features of this hike to the broader description of the area. Hikers who pay particular attention to distance and walking time will find approximate figures and a described profile with moderate climbs for the Blueberry Trail. The longer Enz Spring Trail offers a different route structure, with its three loops.

Activities Beyond the Hiking Trails

Golf and tobogganing are also among the leisure activities in Enzklösterle. The Adventure Golf Park covers more than 3,000 square meters and offers 18 holes adapted to the natural surroundings. The Seewald Freizeitpark features a stainless-steel toboggan run, described as the longest and fastest in southern Germany. Both offer a different focus from the hiking trails: courses in a golf park designed to blend with nature, and a toboggan run in a leisure park.

In the spa gardens, the Vital & Activity Area offers children and adults opportunities to exercise outdoors. These open-air activities complement longer hikes, without requiring either of the two described trails to be the focus.

Blueberries and Seasonal Refreshments

Wild blueberries also shape the local events tradition: Enzklösterle holds an annual Blueberry Festival celebrating the town’s tradition of genuine wild blueberries. The Blueberry House at the Tourist Information Office includes a shop and a lounge. Its offerings include selected blueberry specialties, regional delicacies, gift ideas, as well as coffee, tea and other drinks.

One seasonal option is the beer garden at the Klaiber trout farm by the trout ponds, which operates during the summer months. As seasonal details may change, it is advisable to check availability before visiting. This makes the summer beer garden a seasonal option.

Public Transport During Your Stay

With the KONUS Guest Card, visitors can use public transport in the Black Forest free of charge during their stay. If you would like to include public transport in your plans, this is a practical benefit to consider. The two hiking trails also offer different lengths and starting points: the Enz Spring Trail starts in Gompelscheuer at the source of the Great Enz, while the Blueberry Trail starts near the Tourist Information Office in Enzklösterle.
