Pringy reveals its local history through a range of landmarks: a chapel in the forest, a church window depicting two figures, a château with protected features and a tileworks with a Hoffman kiln. There is also a historic walking trail. If you are planning a stay, you can choose between sacred art, architectural history and a specific walking route.

Chapel and Church Art

The Chapelle de Ferrières was built in the 15th century on what is known as the Route de l’évêché. It is a rural chapel, founded in the late Middle Ages as a church for a village, and is secluded in the forests of Ferrières. Its construction period and original function offer different insights into its history. The approach on foot is via the Chemin de la chapelle. The chapel was built on the Route de l’évêché; the Chemin de la chapelle is the pedestrian access route.

The Église Saint-Maurice offers a different focal point: its stained-glass window depicts the Virgin and Child and Saint Maurice. The scene provides a specific focus on church art. The church is open year-round for individual and group visits; visits can be self-guided or guided. Check visiting arrangements before your trip.

Architectural Landmarks in Pringy

At the Château de Promery, the façades, roofs and two gatehouses are protected. The Mas des Jacobins offers a different perspective on architectural history: it is a horseshoe-shaped farm with a manor house. The municipality acquired the estate in 1979 and restored it. At the château, the protected features are the defining aspect; at the Mas, the focus is on its architectural form and restoration history.

The Tuilière on the Chemin du Bachal adds industrial history to these themes. Founded in 1868, it is a tileworks with a Hoffman kiln and is privately owned. Along with the chapel, church, château and Mas, it broadens the picture of Pringy’s varied architectural landmarks.

Plan Your Walk and Journey

The historic walking trail in Pringy starts at the church car park. The description published in 2023 gives a distance of 3 kilometres, an elevation gain of 70 metres and a duration of 1 hour and 40 minutes; the physical trail conditions may change. These details can help you estimate the distance and time needed for your own day’s plans. Check trail conditions before setting off and allow for the stated walking time.

For travel on SIBRA line 2, a temporary change has been in effect since 5 January 2026 due to construction work in the Pré Billy district: the line runs only as far as Pringy Gare for approximately two years; the “Pringy” terminus is not served. Check the timetable before travelling. If you are looking for a hotel in Pringy and plan to use this line, take the alternative terminus into account when planning your journey.
