La Chapelle-Rambaud brings together a protected mountain landscape and distinctive traces of architectural history. High pastures and forests shape the scenery; on clear days, views of the surrounding mountain ranges stretch as far as the Alpine peaks. When looking for a holiday rental, one key question arises: should the trip focus mainly on the landscape, the historic buildings or the seasonal Nordic activities? In winter, cross-country skiing and snowshoe routes are additional activities in their own right.

Nature and Nordic area

The Domaine nordique de La Chapelle Rambaud has 22 km of cross-country ski trails. Groomed trails are available for classic cross-country skiing, as well as snowshoe routes through forests and over ridgelines. There are also marked paths accessible to younger visitors. The 22 km distance refers to the cross-country ski trails, not the snowshoe routes—a useful distinction when comparing the two activities. Opening times and conditions vary seasonally. If cross-country skiing or snowshoeing will determine when you travel, check current operations and conditions in advance.

Architectural history and heritage

At the Eglise Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, a dated vault detail sits alongside alterations to larger architectural elements. The keystone of the choir vault bears the year 1530; the nave and the bell-shaped portal tower were altered during the Sardinian period. This places a single detail in the choir alongside changes to the nave and tower as distinct architectural points of reference.

The Chapelle de la Marmotte was built in 1873 and is open for anyone to discover. L'Oratoire Notre Dame is a small chapel with a wooden door and a two-part slate roof. Both buildings add specific forms and details to the local architectural history.

The Pont de Combvalloux is also part of the shared heritage of La Chapelle-Rambaud and Pers-Jussy. The bridge was renovated, its original appearance restored, and its safety railings renewed in the traditional style. The renovation thus brought together two approaches: restoring the original appearance and renewing the railings in the traditional style.

Horse riding and local products

The Centre Equestre Le Domino offers riding lessons for all levels, as well as short and long rides. You can choose between lessons and rides, with short and long options available for the rides. Dates and registration conditions may change, so check directly with the centre before making plans.

La Chèvrerie Les Chapellines offers goat, sheep and cow cheeses. The selection therefore includes three different types of cheese; product availability may vary. If culinary discoveries are part of your trip, this selection of cheeses is a tangible local connection.
