Les Brouzils can be discovered through a range of local themes: the history of the town, trails along the edge of the Forêt de Grasla, and activities with animals. The offerings differ in both their subject matter and format: an interpretive trail, a marked path, and a two-hour visit to the Ferme pédagogique de Dafné. Depending on your interests, you can choose between heritage, the forest’s edge, and an activity with a set duration.

Local history on the Circuit du patrimoine

The “Circuit du patrimoine des Brouzils” is an interpretive trail about the history of the town centre. It is 1.5 kilometres long and presents, among other things, the Grand Logis as part of the commune’s architectural heritage. Its focus is therefore not just one building, but also the history of the town.

Each information panel has a QR code with additional information about the places visited. The trail is accessible by bicycle and with a pushchair. The QR codes add to the information about places along the route.

The Chapelle de la Funerie

The Chapelle de la Funerie draws attention to a single building rather than the town centre as a whole. It is located in the village of La Funerie, in the commune of Les Brouzils, and dates from the late 19th century. The neo-Romanesque chapel is built from local stone with brick facings. For many years, it served as a place of worship for the priests of the family and related families. Its history encompasses its construction period and architectural style, as well as its former religious function. The difference from the Circuit is one of scale: the Circuit focuses on the history of the town centre and the Grand Logis, while here the focus is on a single building, its architectural style and its former religious function.

Trails along the edge of the Forêt de Grasla

The “Sentier de la Lisière” runs along the edge of the Forêt de Grasla and is marked in yellow. The path follows the sand-covered “demi-jour” lane to the Pierre Blanche. It also heads towards the Chêne Chevreux. The forest’s edge, trail markers and named landmarks give this route a different focus from the Circuit, which centres on the history of the town centre.

Animal-related activities at the Ferme pédagogique de Dafné

The Ferme pédagogique de Dafné offers educational, therapeutic and leisure activities in a natural setting. A two-hour visit includes getting to know, observing, feeding, petting and brushing the animals. So, in addition to observing them, the visit includes several hands-on activities with the animals. Booking is required for guided educational visits. Confirm your booking and availability again before travelling.

For planning your stay, note that the figures refer to different things: 1.5 kilometres is the length of the Circuit, while two hours is the duration of a visit to the farm. On the Sentier, the forest’s edge, yellow markings and landmarks help you find your way. This lets you choose between a set distance, a time-limited animal visit and a route shaped by the landscape.

About the Le Refuge de Grasla association
