Clearly measured walking routes, a garden with around sixty sculptures and an English-style landscape park give La Chapelle-Sur-Dun several specific highlights to explore. Your choice depends on a few different questions: What route length fits your plans? Are you more interested in country lanes and villages, or in architecture and garden art? The type of visit also matters: at Terre d'Accord, garden visits and guided storytelling walks must be arranged in advance. This lets you weigh up the theme and type of visit together.

Comparing two walking routes

Circuit N°7 – Les chemins de forrières is 8.6 kilometres long, of which 6.2 kilometres are along paths. The route follows former Forrières paths, passes fields and runs between villages. Route conditions and trail markings may change; check both before setting out.

Circuit N°13 – Patrimoine de la Vallée du Dun is 7.8 kilometres long, of which 5 kilometres are along paths. Along the way, the route passes manor houses, dovecotes, typical farmhouses and thatched houses. In a direct numerical comparison, it is 0.8 kilometres shorter than Circuit N°7; its section along paths is also 1.2 kilometres shorter, at 5 rather than 6.2 kilometres.

Garden art at Terre d'Accord

Terre d'Accord is a two-hectare landscaped “atelier of the living”, divided into four gardens. The Jardin d'art “Terre d'Accord” is home to around sixty sculptures and includes the artist's studio. The figures for the site’s area and number of gardens convey different aspects of the grounds: their size and layout, while the sculptures indicate their artistic focus.

There are two visit formats: Terre d'Accord offers guided storytelling walks for groups of at least five, by prior arrangement, as well as self-guided garden visits, also by prior arrangement. The minimum group size applies to the guided walks. If you plan to take up this offer, arrange your visit in advance; a self-guided visit does not automatically mean admission is available without an appointment.

More art and cultural experiences

The Terre et Couleur artists’ studio offers painting classes for children and adults. The offer may change, so check before planning whether your preferred class is available on your visit date. This helps distinguish the classes from the visits to Terre d'Accord, which must be arranged in advance.

The church in La Chapelle-sur-Dun replaces an earlier church dating from the 11th century. The date refers to this predecessor building. Those interested in local architectural history will find a specific historical reference here, without confusing the age of the earlier church with that of the present one.

Parc du Château Saint Jean

Parc du Château Saint Jean is an English-style landscape park with fountains and a pond, rose-lined avenues, hydrangeas, perennials and remarkable two-hundred-year-old trees. From 1987 to 1991, the park was completely renovated and expanded. This period marks the park’s renovation and expansion.

There is a special condition for summer visits: at that time, only the park can be visited. Check the opening conditions before your trip. This way, you can take the seasonal restriction into account when planning a visit to the park.
