Fuissé can be explored from several angles: the appellation’s wine-growing landscape, a range of tasting formats, cycling routes and an architecturally distinctive church each offer a different focus. When planning your visit, it is worth distinguishing between the options: a guided tour, a bike rental for independent use and a route that starts and ends in the village offer different ways to get to know the surrounding area.

Wine and Terroir in Fuissé

The Pouilly-Fuissé appellation geographically includes Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly, Vergisson and Chaintré in the southern Mâconnais. Its designation of origin was recognized as early as 1936. The Entre Pouilly et Fuissé route offers another way to explore the appellation’s wine-growing landscape: it offers views over the vineyards and starts and ends in Fuissé, on Rue de la Planchette.

Domaines Auvigue specializes in producing and marketing white wines from the Mâconnais. In Fuissé, the winery offers cellar tours, vineyard tours and tastings. There are several formats to choose from, depending on whether you are interested in the cellar, the vineyards or the wines. Booking details may change; check the current conditions before making plans.

Les Vini Balades is listed as a program for 2026. The walk passes through the vineyards around Fuissé and combines panoramic views with an introduction to the concept of terroir. It concludes with an explanation in the winery and tasting room, followed by a tasting of several wines from a Fuissé winery, accompanied by bread and cheese. If you plan to take part, check the dates for your travel period.

Also listed for 2026, the Initiation en Mâconnais experience includes a one-and-a-half-hour cellar visit and a tasting of four wines. It takes place in a fully renovated 12th-century Romanesque church and includes a sensory workshop. Reservations by phone or email are required. Check the date and availability in advance.

Getting Around by Bike or on Foot

Vinibike offers guided electric mountain bike tours starting in Fuissé. If you prefer to explore independently, you can also rent a bike; a GPS track on your smartphone is optional. The main difference is whether you prefer a guided tour or independent use of a rental bike. After the Vinibike experience, there is an option to taste wines from the family-run winery; this tasting is optional and is not automatically included in every experience. Booking and equipment details may change.

The Entre Pouilly et Fuissé route offers a different perspective on the landscape from a bike tour: it starts and ends on Rue de la Planchette in Fuissé, and along the way, there are views over the appellation’s wine-growing landscape. Check the route conditions before setting off. Together with the guided and self-guided cycling options, the route gives you different ways to include physical activity and wine country in your trip, without requiring a specific duration or pace.

The village’s wine-growing heritage also includes the family-run Luquet depuis 1878 winery. It is located in Fuissé and has a history spanning six generations. This provides another historical point of reference alongside the specific tasting and tour formats offered to visitors.

Architecture as a Cultural Highlight

The Church of Saint-Germain in Fuissé was built between 1868 and 1872 in the Flamboyant Gothic Revival style and consecrated on September 1, 1872. Eight large Neo-Flamboyant window openings with stained glass windows illuminate the nave. The construction period, consecration and windows give architecture a clear historical and artistic focus, distinct from the wine and landscape experiences.

For the experiences listed for 2026, checking dates and reservation conditions is the next planning step; for the route, check the conditions before setting off.
