Inguiniel brings together the Scorff, signposted circular trails and places with a long history. When planning your trip, you can choose between different focuses: exploring a designated route outdoors or discovering chapels and archaeological remains. The trails range from an accessible two-kilometre walk to longer hiking and cycling routes.

Hiking trails and circular routes

Near Inguiniel, the Scorff forms a peaceful, tree-lined area that can be reached along several hiking trails. The river is particularly popular for fishing, especially for salmon. The Scorff is therefore a focus both for its scenery and as a place for a specific leisure activity.

A hiking trail leads from the town centre on foot or by bicycle through the hamlets of Lochrist and Locunel to the ForĂŞt de Lann Bourgeol. It connects a starting point in the centre with the forest as its destination. If you prefer a circular route, the Circuit du Scorff is a 10.4-kilometre loop marked in yellow. It is designated for hiking and mountain biking.

The Circuit du Chevreuil offers a different point of reference: it consists of two yellow-marked loops, 7 to 10 kilometres long. It starts in Locunel, at the car park opposite the school. The Balade vélo à Inguiniel is a cycling route measuring 11.3 kilometres. When comparing the routes, consider not only their length but also their designated use and, for the Circuit du Chevreuil, its specific starting point.

For a shorter route in the town centre, the accessible “Sur les pas des Celtes” walk is an option. It is two kilometres long and takes you to the cultural heritage sites in the centre. This makes it different from the longer circular routes in both length and focus. An orienteering course has also been set up in the Forêt de Lann Bourgeol.

Chapels and historical sites

The Chapelle Notre Dame de Locmaria dates from the second half of the 15th century and was built by the Jégado family. It houses the most significant collection of old furnishings in the commune of Inguiniel, consisting mainly of polychrome wooden statues. The chapel was listed as a Monument historique by decree on 20 March 1934.

The Chapelle Saint Maurice, in the east of the commune, dates from the late 17th century. Its old furnishings include three high-quality polychrome wooden statues. Other sites are also listed as Monuments historiques: the Calvaire de la croix de Lochrist by decree on 17 May 1933, and the Chapelle Saint-Claude together with its calvary by decree on 4 February 1974.

The Chapelle de Lochrist was built around 1605 and extended and restored in 1837. It is still surrounded by an enclosure. A fountain and its calvary are 300 metres from the chapel. For a cultural walk, these named buildings and their different construction and listing dates offer specific points of interest, without needing to combine them into a single route.

Kerven Teignouse

A Celtic settlement that existed for at least six centuries has been identified at Kerven Teignouse. Its features include structures surrounded by ditches, underground rooms and numerous ceramics. Guided visits with commentary make it easier to navigate and interpret the excavation site. Kerven Teignouse thus offers an archaeological focus distinct from the chapels and their preserved wooden statues.
