Terenez combines beach activities with several forms of watersports. When planning your trip, you can first consider whether beach time, sailing and rowing, or a seasonal tasting should be the main focus. The island is connected to the mainland by a raised pebble causeway; activities range from windsurfing to rowing on the water.

Beach on the Peninsula

Plage de Térénez is a sand and pebble beach on the Térénez peninsula, particularly popular with windsurfers. There is free parking and toilets at the beach. As these facilities may change, check their current availability before your visit. The beach is therefore a clear point of reference for days focused on sand, pebbles and windsurfing; its character differs from the boating and rowing options at the harbour.

Port de Térénez

Port de Térénez is a marina for boats less than ten metres long. It offers mooring spaces for 180 boats, eight of which are visitor berths. If you are arriving in your own boat, it is important to distinguish between the total capacity and the visitor berths. Also take into account the length limit of less than ten metres. Showers and toilets are available. As capacity and facilities may change, check current availability before travelling.

Sailing and Rowing

École de voile de Térénez offers competitive sailing training through its sports school. Its equipment includes catamarans, dinghies and windsurfing boards; the inventory may change. Check the current training schedule, as times may change.

The rowing club Aviron baie de Morlaix is based at Port de Térénez. It offers opportunities for training, competition preparation and recreational outings on the water. Rowing therefore focuses on both athletic preparation and leisure outings. By contrast, the sailing school focuses on competitive sailing training. This distinction can help you choose between sailing and rowing, and between training and leisure activities.

Seasonal Oyster Tasting

From July to September, Les Huîtres de Stérec offers a tasting of oysters and shellfish daily from 12 pm to 9 pm. It takes place on an outdoor terrace at the oyster farm, with views of Port de Térénez. White wine, bread and butter are served with the tasting. As a seasonal offering, it is available from July to September; check current availability before travelling. If you would also like to plan a culinary stop, you can take this time window into account when planning your trip.

Historical Interest

At Pointe de Térénez in Plougasnou, there is a fortified complex (Mo 60) with wartime relics. The project was never carried out. This means that, in addition to the beach and watersports, the area also has historical interest: an unrealised fortification project and the wartime relics associated with it.

Holiday Apartment and Trip Planning

When looking for a holiday apartment in Terenez, you can first list your interests for your stay: the beach and windsurfing, sailing training, rowing or the seasonal tasting. The activities also differ in their timing: the tasting is available from July to September, from 12 pm to 9 pm; for training and harbour services, check current dates and availability. Then compare the location and amenities of a specific holiday apartment according to your own requirements.
