Plouzévédé offers several highlights for a stay: the Sentier de Saint-Laurent, Sentier des Moulins and Sentier du Guillec hiking trails, as well as protected buildings and basketry. When looking for a holiday rental, you can first decide whether trail length, landscape, architectural history or craftwork should shape your stay.

Hiking trails with different highlights

The Sentier de Saint-Laurent starts at the town hall and is a 9-kilometre hiking trail; its stated duration is 1 hour and 45 minutes. This makes it possible to plan the route based on its length and stated duration. The Sentier des Moulins is a 12-kilometre circular route, rated easy, for hiking and mountain biking. It starts at the car park at Chapelle Notre-Dame de Berven and passes the mill and the Brant pond. The trails therefore differ in their starting points, length and character. Check trail conditions before setting out; local parking options may change.

The Sentier du Guillec focuses on the landscape: the trail passes through bocage countryside, along paths in wooded areas and field edges, and between fields and cultivated plateaus in the Guillec valley. Bocage refers to a farmed landscape divided by hedgerows. In contrast to the Sentier des Moulins, with its named landmarks, the landscape takes centre stage here. The specific duration given for the Sentier de Saint-Laurent and the landscape description of the Sentier du Guillec therefore address different planning considerations: timing and trail character.

Architectural history and protected heritage

The bell tower of the parish church of Saint-Pierre was built in 1655 and 1669. Chapelle Notre-Dame de Berven dates from 1580 and is classified as a historic monument; its bell tower is of the Léonard type. The chapel’s construction date and protected status describe different features, while the Léonard type classifies the bell tower architecturally. So the focus here is not only on dates: the chapel’s protected status and tower type complement its dating.

The Notre-Dame-de-Berven spring has been classified as a historic monument since 27 November 1968. The Sentier des Moulins passes by it, adding a protected cultural feature to the mill and pond along the route.

Basketry in Plouzévédé

In Plouzévédé, visitors can watch local basket makers making wickerwork. Gwialenn Ar Vro runs a workshop open to the public, with basket-weaving demonstrations and exhibitions, as well as information about willow cultivation. This offers several ways to learn about the craft: by watching the work being done, viewing exhibitions and exploring the topic of willow cultivation. Visiting arrangements may change; check in advance before visiting the workshop.
