To the northwest of La Feuillée, the moors and ridges of the Monts d’Arrée shape the landscape. The entire commune has been part of the Monts d’Arrée listed landscape site since 10 January 1966. For planning your trip, you can choose from hikes of different durations and several landmarks reflecting the area’s architectural and local history. This lets you decide in advance whether to focus your stay on a single hike or a longer route.

Hiking Options for Different Timeframes

La Feuillée is part of the approximately 100-kilometre Kalon Menez Are hiking route. It can be walked in two- to three-day loops; longer options take up to five days or more. This timeframe gives you an initial idea of how much of your stay you might want to set aside for this route.

A shorter alternative in terms of time is the Roc’h ar Bic circular trail: it is 18 kilometres long and takes about 4 hours and 30 minutes. The actual duration may vary depending on conditions. This gives you the option of comparing a single, several-hour loop with a multi-day section of the Kalon Menez Are route when planning your trip.

The Roc’h an Teuz hike also brings together the trail and the history of the landscape. It follows the former Plouescat–Rosporden railway line up to the ridge of Roc’h Trévézel. Check trail conditions before setting out.

The railway line opened in 1912, closed in 1932 and was subsequently dismantled. It was then converted into a hiking trail. On Roc’h an Teuz, the route therefore follows a former transport link and also leads to a named ridge destination: Roc’h Trévézel.

Buildings, a Historic Monument and Local Tradition

Goarem ar Manec’h is a fortified, abandoned village. A decree dated 26 February 1996 listed it as a historic monument. The site offers a different historical focus from the churches and stone monuments in the commune: here, the former village layout takes centre stage.

The Saint-Houardon Chapel is documented as far back as 1617. It was probably built by the Hospitaller commandery at the beginning of the 17th century. The present-day parish church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste stands on the site of a building that partly dates from the 13th century. For the church, the date refers to the earlier building on the site, not to the present-day building as a whole.

The Menhir de Kerelcun is a Neolithic granite menhir at the edge of a disused section of the former D764 departmental road. Its classification links a specific place with a distant period of prehistory; its material and location can be identified as clearly as its Neolithic context.

The Pardon in honour of Saint-Jean on 24 June includes the traditional procession of the “petit mouton” (“little sheep”). It is led by a four-year-old child. If you would like to plan your trip around this date, check the dates and programme of the Pardon in advance.

To decide how long to stay, you can first choose between the several-hour Roc’h ar Bic circular trail and the two- to three-day loops on Kalon Menez Are; longer options on the route take up to five days or more. These timeframes can help you decide how much of your stay to devote to hiking before planning other visits and looking for a hotel in La Feuillée.
