Elliant brings together a route along the Jet, an old cart track, sunken lanes, historic buildings, traditional local dress and the leisure activities at Odet Loisirs. The area can be explored from several perspectives: focusing on a short loop, countryside trails, or culture and activities. This variety gives travellers different ways to shape their stay around their interests.

Routes along the Jet and old paths

The Promenade de la chapelle is an easy, signposted 3.9 km circular route that follows the River Jet. It can be enjoyed on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike. The Circuit de Pont-Bihan crosses the Jet valley and offers views of the surrounding countryside. The Circuit de Tro Goulivars follows an old cart track through green countryside and sunken lanes.

The routes offer different ways to choose: the Promenade de la chapelle is an easy, marked loop suitable for several activities; the Jet valley and its views define the Pont-Bihan route, while the Tro Goulivars route is characterised by its old cart track and sunken lanes. Your choice therefore depends on whether you want to focus on the route itself or on the landscape features along the way.

Short loop and architectural heritage

If you are looking for a shorter loop, consider the Promenade de la plage verte: it starts in the centre of Elliant and is suitable for family walks. The route passes two recently restored washhouses. Local route conditions can change on both promenades.

The bell tower of the Church of Saint-Gilles is listed as a historic monument (Monument historique); the Chapelle de Tréanna dates from the 1480s. The listing draws attention to the tower’s protected status, while the date points to the chapel’s age—two different ways of exploring Elliant’s architectural history.

Leisure, cider and traditional dress

The 7-hectare Odet Loisirs leisure park is in Elliant, near Quimper. Its activities include water slides, trampolines, tubing, rail bikes, canoes, pedal boats and treetop courses. This range makes the park a leisure option in its own right, alongside walking routes and architectural heritage. Individual attractions may change.

The Cidrerie Melenig offers tours with tastings and makes organic cider bearing the Cornouaille AOP designation. The tour schedule is seasonal and may change. If you plan a visit, check the dates in advance.

Elliant’s traditional dress is unique and distinguished by golden-yellow embroidery. Alongside the historic buildings, it offers a different perspective on local culture: the focus here is on clothing traditions, not on a building’s date or heritage status.
