Mountain Biking in Jussac

Jussac has a clearly identifiable starting point for mountain biking at the Base VTT du Moulin. The base is FFCT-certified and offers four permanently signposted circular routes. Its offering also includes around 100 kilometres of signposted and secured trails, linked by routes between Jussac, Aurillac, Saint-Cernin and Saint-Illide. This distinguishes two scales: individual circular routes at the base and a wider network of routes that takes in several towns. This distinction can help you shape your trip according to whether you are more interested in a single circuit or in the network connecting several places.

Bike hire also needs to be planned in advance: the base rents out around twenty mountain bikes and e-mountain bikes year-round, by reservation. The offer is available to adults and young people aged 16 and over. If you are weighing up the two types of bike, you can choose according to the type of drive you prefer; reservations remain part of the planning process.

Horse Riding and Seasonal Events

Horse riding offers a second activity alongside the cycling routes. Visitors can try it at the Ferme Équestre de l’Authre, located on the Promenade des Sports in Jussac. A 2020 municipal bulletin also mentions school-holiday courses for riding badges, dressage and show jumping, as well as demonstrations.

Another seasonal highlight is the Gourmand market. In the municipal programme for 2026, it was scheduled for Thursdays in July and August on the Promenade des Sports; it was organised by the local festival committee. If you would like to plan a market visit for a later year, it is worth checking the event dates for that year.

Jussac’s agricultural festival has been revived and continues to evolve from year to year. If you would like this festival to influence your travel dates, check the specific event date for the year in question.

Local History and Culture

Jussac’s local history is reflected in several distinct landmarks. A reliquary in the Church of Saint-Martin has been protected as a historic object since 20 July 1983. The Chapelle d’Hauterive is one of the local testimonies to a rich past. There are also numerous manor houses, some of which may also be described as châteaux. The range therefore extends from a specific, precisely dated object to a broader group of historic buildings. Visitors interested in architecture and history can explore these as different facets of Jussac.

Another cultural destination is the Médiathèque Jean-Claude Maurel. It is also open to people who live outside the CABA, so access is not restricted to residents of this area. This adds a cultural venue to the options for cycling and horse riding. For visitors who do not want to plan their stay around outdoor activities alone, the media library offers a different focus. Its accessibility broadens the range of possible themes for a trip to Jussac.
