Rimons offers several distinct highlights for a stay: climbing at three named areas, a walking loop through the Bois de la Sainte-Emilionne, the Église Saint-Hilaire and a farm inn. When choosing a holiday rental, you can consider whether outdoor activities, climbing routes, local history or a visit to the inn is your priority. The differences between the climbing areas can help you decide; hiking, the church and the picnic area offer other themes of their own.

Climbing at Three Areas

La Petite Chaumette has six routes up to five metres high, graded 5c to 6b. La Séguraude offers 24 routes up to eight metres high, graded 4b to 6b. In direct comparison, La Séguraude has more routes and a greater maximum height; both areas have a highest grade of 6b. The lower grades differ: 4b at La Séguraude compared with 5c at La Petite Chaumette. At the La Séguraude climbing wall, you can climb independently or with supervision. There are also hiking trails and several picnic areas. The Falaises de Rimons climbing area is located in a former limestone quarry.

Hiking and Picnic Areas

A very accessible walking loop passes through the Bois de la Sainte-Emilionne. As local conditions can vary, take them into account when planning. Below the church is a landscaped, shaded picnic area. A municipal washhouse is located in the public area of the village centre. Another municipal washhouse in Boucaud is being renovated.

Church and Local History

The Église Saint-Hilaire de Rimons has two naves and is a protected historic monument. It was listed by decree on 21 November 1925; the protected area also includes the former nave. This serves as the presbytery’s wine cellar and is also used as a venue for various activities, including art exhibitions. The events programme may vary. If you include cultural attractions in your travel plans, the church offers both an architectural point of interest and a history of changing use.

Farm Inn

The farm inn in Rimons is open year-round and specialises in raising ducks for fattening. If you plan to visit during your stay, check the opening hours and availability of visits in advance. There is a difference to bear in mind when choosing when to travel: the farm inn is open year-round, while the events programme in the former nave may vary. If you plan to visit the inn and an art exhibition, you can include the inn regardless of the season, but should check exhibition dates well ahead of your trip.
