Maisonsgoutte can be explored through specific discoveries: the furnishings of Saint-Antoine Church, a grotto with its own history, various trails and a museum-workshop dedicated to jams. The offerings differ considerably in character. When planning a stay, you can first decide whether to focus on culture, a playful village walk, exercise or jam-making.
Church Art in Saint-Antoine Church
Ten stained-glass windows in the nave of Saint-Antoine Church are dated 1913. Eight stained-glass windows in Saint-Antoine Church illustrate the Pater Noster, or the Lord’s Prayer. The ceiling painting in the nave depicts Saint Odile and Pope Leo; René Kuder created it in 1914. Together, the stained glass and ceiling painting present different forms of sacred imagery.
The Grotte de Lourdes at Scheibenbuckel
The Grotte de Lourdes is located at Scheibenbuckel, above the former Heid vineyard. At the beginning of the 20th century, a private owner created it; later, he donated the property to the church. Volunteers keep the grotto clean and welcoming all year round. People visit on Sundays and weekdays because they walk along this hillside. The grotto’s location at Scheibenbuckel and the history of the property give it both a landscape and a church-history connection.
Compare the Village Walk and Trails
For an active stay, the offerings differ above all in their theme, route and starting point. The Balade ludique à Maisonsgoutte is a playful village walk featuring riddles and the collection of clues. It is 1.8 km long and is offered in three versions for children aged 4 to 12 and for the whole family. This makes it a specific option for families who want to include solving riddles together in their outing.
The Boucle des Trois Villages starts in Saint-Martin and passes through Breitenbach, Saint-Martin and Maisonsgoutte. Its route alternates between open meadows and stretches of woodland. The Chemin du patrimoine starts at Maisonsgoutte town hall and also passes through Saint-Martin, Breitenbach and Maisonsgoutte. The Boucle and the Chemin du patrimoine therefore pass through the same three villages, but have different starting points: Saint-Martin and the town hall in Maisonsgoutte, respectively. The Chemin Höllrain takes a different route: it follows a stream to the centre of Maisonsgoutte. This makes it possible to distinguish the trails by their starting points and the routes described for each.
Jams at the Musée-atelier des Confitures du Climont
The Musée-atelier des Confitures du Climont offers visitors a tour covering more than 150 m². The production workshop is permanently open to visitors; the shop selling directly to customers includes a tasting area. The difference between the offerings is clear: the workshop focuses on production, while the tasting area is for sampling. As visitor arrangements may change, check the latest information about the tour before your visit.
