Jämijärvi brings historic buildings together with specific cycling routes: the Neo-Gothic church and local history museum give the cultural theme shape; the Geopark cycling route passes through the centre, and the Satakunta Geopark Tour is a 176.5-kilometre circular route for bikepacking. Nearby destinations include Jämi.
Church, vicarage and local history museum
Jämijärvi Church is a Neo-Gothic church built in 1859–1860. Next to it stands the Old Vicarage, completed in 1856 as a home for the pastor’s family and considered one of Finland’s valuable old vicarages. The vicarage therefore dates from an earlier construction phase than the church; its original residential function offers a different historical point of reference from the church building.
The local history museum is located on Church Hill in two old granaries. Exhibits include furniture, household items, objects from the travelling school and tools for making wooden drainage pipes. The collection offers insights into home and school life as well as a specific craft technique. As a regional natural landmark, Lake Jämijärvi is part of the Lauhanvuori–Hämeenkangas UNESCO Global Geopark.
