Rynárec brings together protected buildings and memorial sites with a landscape shaped by the Bělá and agricultural land. A 34.5-kilometre cycling route also passes through the town. This offers several different points of focus for planning a visit: architectural history, the local landscape and cycling. Which you choose to focus on depends on whether you are more interested in monuments, landforms or a particular route.
Landscape between the watercourse and agricultural land
The Bělá flows through the centre of Rynárec from south to north. Most of the area consists of agricultural land, with flat to moderately sloping areas and plateaus. This places a watercourse in the town alongside the agricultural character of the wider area as two distinct scales. This contrast adds a spatial perspective to the view of individual buildings: the course of the Bělá can be traced on the one hand, while fields and plateaus describe the character of the area as a whole on the other.
Cultural monuments and remembrance
The Church of St Lawrence is a state-protected immovable cultural monument dating from 1203. Next to it stands a war memorial to those who fell in the First World War, supplemented by a list of those who fell in the Second World War. The church and memorial are therefore right beside each other, while the commemorations span two world wars. The rectory at No. 24 is another state-protected immovable cultural monument. A different architectural feature can be seen at the older house at No. 34: a timber-framed section with walls made of unhewn logs has been preserved there. The church and rectory represent protected buildings; at No. 34, the construction using unhewn logs takes centre stage. The town’s architectural history thus brings together different forms and functions.
Cycling and equestrian sport
The 34.5-kilometre cycling route “Okolo lomu k evropskému rozvodí” passes through Rynárec. It is considered easy and is suitable for mountain bikes along its route. The distance, difficulty rating and bicycle type answer different questions: the number of kilometres describes the route’s length, the rating indicates its difficulty and its suitability for mountain bikes helps you choose the right bicycle. Route conditions can change seasonally; check them before setting out.
The JK Cavalier Rynárec riding club is another point of interest for sports enthusiasts. It is a sports and recreational riding stable where both privately owned and rented horses are kept. If you plan to include the facility in your itinerary, check its facilities before you arrive.
Plan your journey
Rynárec is connected to Pelhřimov by road II/112 and a railway line. This means road and rail are two different options for getting there. Check which connection is suitable for your travel date. You can combine this information with your preferred focus for your stay: transport links answer the question of how to get there, while monuments, the landscape and the cycling route shape your choice of activities.
