When considering Kojcice as a travel destination, you can think of its townscape and trails as two distinct highlights. In the centre, the village green, pond and chapel help orient visitors; named hiking and cycling routes also take in the cadastral area and paths at the edge of the village. When planning your trip, it helps to first choose between exploring the village and following a specific route.

Village Green, Návesák and Chapel

Kojcice is laid out as a circular settlement with a pond on the village green. The Návesák pond is the green’s most prominent visual feature. The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk is a historically and architecturally valuable building, as well as a notable landmark. The townscape thus brings together a distinctive settlement form, a body of water and a prominent building. Návesák shapes the view across the green, while the chapel stands out as a building in its own right.

The Czech film comedy “Marečku, podejte mi pero!” also provides a cultural connection: Kojcice is mentioned as the home of the parents of the student Plha. This is a fictional reference to the village, while the chapel and green shape its local appearance.

Hiking Between the Village Centre and Hejlovka

A marked red hiking trail runs through the centre from north to southwest. The route “Along the Hejlovka River to the Viewpoint” starts at the edge of Kojcice and follows a red-marked hiking trail to a rocky viewpoint above the Hejlovka River. Its longer variant continues to the Sedlická Reservoir. The route description therefore links a viewpoint above the river with a longer option extending to the reservoir.

Parking is available at the edge of the village for this route. From Pelhřimov, you can drive to Kojcice and then continue on foot. Before setting out, check the latest route details and access options, as route variants and access arrangements may change.

Cycling Routes and Fishing Grounds

Marked cycling route 1223 runs through the cadastral area of Kojcice. The “From the Sedlická Reservoir to Křemešník” cycling tour passes through Kojcice and U Šlejferků, as well as the Na Vyhlídce junction. These points help you navigate the tour. Check current route conditions before setting out.

The HEJLOVKA 1 fishing ground (421 022) extends from the weir of the Břečovský Mill, upstream of the entrance to the Sedlická Reservoir, to the dam of the Svárovský Mill in the cadastral area of Kojcice. As fishing regulations may change, check the current rules before including this fishing ground in your plans.

Outdoor Swimming Pool Towards Vadčice

There is a natural outdoor swimming pool outside the built-up area towards Vadčice. If you plan to visit, check the latest opening and access details in advance.
