Těmice lies in a valley through which the Syrovínka flows. Annual customs and a traditional wine tasting add cultural highlights, and the Bzenecká Wine Trail also leads to the village. This means you can plan your stay around different interests—from regional traditions and a cycling route to the outdoor swimming pool. When looking for a holiday apartment, you can consider in advance which of these interests matters most for your trip.
Valley, Stream and Hills
The valley, situated about 250 metres above sea level, is surrounded by the hills Domanínský kopec, at 312 metres, and Zadní díly, at 310 metres. The Syrovínka stream flows through Těmice. The valley, hills and stream provide a clear framework for finding your way around the landscape: the village is not on either of the named hills, but in the valley surrounded by them.
Customs and Wine Tasting
Every year around St. Catherine’s Day, Těmice celebrates Slovácké hody with věncem and káčery. The local horticultural association also holds a traditional wine tasting every year. These two recurring events offer different opportunities to explore local customs and wine culture. If you would like to plan your trip around an event, check the exact date in advance.
Historic Buildings and Architecture
The old mill is one of Těmice’s historically significant buildings. A protected žudro dating from the mid-19th century can also be found at the folk farmhouse at No. 48. The cultural scene extends beyond the annual events: the mill and žudro represent historic architecture, while Hody and the wine tasting feature in the events calendar.
Cycling the Bzenecká Wine Trail
The Bzenecká Wine Trail is 26 kilometres long and runs from Ježov to Těmice. It is suitable for cyclists of all categories, although the hilly sections of the Kyjovská pahorkatina in the first half of the route are more challenging. The route’s general suitability and its more demanding sections are both worth considering when planning your ride. Most of the trail can be used year-round.
The surface also varies: 80 percent of the route runs along quiet Class III roads, while 20 percent follows paved and unpaved off-road sections. More challenging spots also include the sandy stretch between Bzenec and Hrubý háj near Moravský Písek. These details help you assess the route not only by its length, but also by its described course and surface.
Plan Your Journey and Accommodation
Těmice has no rail connection; regular bus services link the village with the surrounding area. Take this into account when planning your journey, and check the relevant connections and timetables before setting off. When looking for a holiday apartment, you can also decide whether you want to focus your stay on local traditions, the cycling route or other attractions in the area.
Koupaliště Outdoor Swimming Pool
The Koupaliště outdoor swimming pool in Těmice has a large pool and a small pool, a snack bar and table tennis facilities. The pool was prepared and open for the 2026 swimming season. Check current access before visiting, especially if you plan to travel at a later date.
