Two cycling routes intersect in Nýrov, while tourist trails marked in blue and green also pass through the village. Memorial plaques, monuments and the partisan dugout add a second focus to trip planning: alongside outdoor activities, you can explore local history and remembrance. Specific route numbers, place names and the different distances of the Pochod Halasovým Kunštátskem help you find your way.

Cycling Routes, Trails and Choosing a Distance

Cycling routes 5142 and 5144 intersect in the municipality. The tourist trail marked in blue passes through Nýrov along the route Letovice – Nýrov – Rudka – Kunštát – Sychotín – Touboř – Kunice – Bedřichov and beyond. The tourist trail marked in green passes through Nýrov along the route Kunštát – Nýrov – Jasinov – Vranová – Křetín and beyond. The listed sequences of places show that the two marked trails follow different connections.

The Pochod Halasovým Kunštátskem offers routes of 7, 15, 25 and 42 km. Its tenth edition took place in 2024, and its eleventh in 2025. This means trip planning offers two different ways to find your bearings: cycling route numbers and sequences of places on the one hand, and specific distance options for the event on the other.

Travel information for the Pochod mentions IDS JMK public bus services or taking the train to Letovice zastávka station, followed by a walk to Nýrov. Kunštát and Letovice are named as starting points. Check which connection is suitable for the date of the relevant edition.

Memorial Sites in Nýrov

A plaque on a school building commemorates Antonín Pěta. For taking part in the anti-fascist resistance, he was executed by the German occupiers on 22 February 1945. A monument to the victims of the First and Second World Wars stands on the village green near the municipal office. The two sites have different focuses: remembrance of a specific person and commemoration of the victims of both world wars.

A memorial to the victims of the Second World War is located in the forest, inside the dugout. It is 2 km from the bus stop and can be reached via the tourist trail marked in green. The partisan dugout itself lies in the forest below Hradisko; a branch off the marked hiking trail leads to it. During restoration work in summer 2021, a bench and a new information board were among the additions. Check the current condition before your visit. A monument by the dugout commemorates six fallen soldiers. A small bell tower in Nýrov was also restored.

Hradisko and the Landscape

Hradisko lies about 1.5 km southeast of Nýrov. It is a spur above the valley of the Nýrovský potok. The partly deforested hill offers views of Sebranice and the Svitava Valley. Its approximate distance and position above the valley add a distinct landscape perspective to planning a visit, while the marked trails through Nýrov offer a different way to find your way around.

The Nýrovský Slivkošt Competition

The Nýrovský Slivkošt is for competition participants and guests interested in slivovitz. The 2025 categories included plum brandy and other spirits, as well as aged plum brandies and other aged spirits. This offers a specific insight into the competition’s themes without making any claim about a future event date.
