A stream running through the built-up area, a pond near the village and a historic monument on its western edge give Býkovice several points of interest for a stay. There is also a named excursion route and bus connections towards Kuřim and Lysice. Depending on your interests, the focus may be on the landscape, activities, history or getting there. If you are looking for a hotel, these highlights can help you organize your priorities for the trip.

Water and Landscape

The Býkovka flows through the eastern part of Býkovice’s built-up area. The Na Ohrazdě pond is a distinctive artificial landscape feature near the built-up area. Two different water features therefore come together in the local landscape: a stream that flows through the built-up area and an artificial pond close to the village.

Lysicko Nature Park extends across approximately the western half of the cadastral area of Býkovice and is intended to support individual recreation in nature. The Býkovka valley is a significant landscape area within the nature park. The stream and the valley therefore offer different points of interest: one runs through the built-up area, while the other is part of an important landscape unit in the nature park.

Hiking Trails and Cycling Routes

Two cycling routes and a yellow-marked hiking trail called “Údolím Býkovky” pass through Býkovice. The excursion route of the same name is 14 km long and rated moderate. It runs from Kozárov via Kunčina Ves and Býkovice to Černá Hora. Along this route, Býkovice lies between Kunčina Ves and Černá Hora. The excursion route gives you a specific length, difficulty rating and sequence of places to help you choose a route; the two cycling routes are a separate option for cyclists.

Porčův Mill and Historic Sites

Porčův Mill is on the western edge of Býkovice and is a historic monument open to the public. The mill was first mentioned in writing in 1526. Porčův Mill offers guided tours and stylish dining at an inn with seating by a pond. This gives you the option of considering history and a meal by the water as distinct aspects of a visit to the mill.

Býkovice is also home to the historic rural farmstead No. 62. It provides another connection to the area’s history alongside the mill. While Porčův Mill offers specific points of reference in its first written mention and guided tours, the other site is identified as a historic rural farmstead.
