A stay in Hajany can be planned around specific cultural and landscape attractions. The Chapel of St. Anne and a stone cross shape the appearance of the well-kept village green; a group of menhirs lies northeast of the village. Other highlights include the gallery of painter Ladislav Maria Wagner, a viewpoint above the village, and two places to see along the old road to Řečice. A cycling route from Blatná passes through the centre. This gives you the option of focusing on cultural history, an art visit or observing the landscape.

Chapel and stone cross on the village green

In 1900, the municipality had the present-day Chapel of St. Anne built on the village green, replacing an older, small brick chapel; today, it is a prominent feature of the well-kept green. In front of it stands an intricately crafted stone cross dating from 1859. The dates clearly distinguish the two: 1859 refers to the cross, and 1900 to the present-day chapel. The contrast between the older cross and the chapel built later gives the village green a clear historical focal point.

Gallery and group of menhirs

For art lovers, the gallery of painter Ladislav Maria Wagner offers a distinct attraction in Hajany. Wagner lives and works permanently in the South Bohemian village. The gallery can be visited by prior arrangement by telephone. If it is important to your stay, arrange your visit by phone in advance.

Northeast of Hajany is a group of menhirs erected by Menhirostav. The chapel and stone cross stand on the village green, while the group of menhirs lies northeast of Hajany. It represents a different type of cultural heritage from the chapel and cross.

Views and finding your way around the village

For nature views, the viewpoint offers a different experience from the places along the old road. Above Hajany, between pastures, there is a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding pastures, meadows and forests. Along the old road to Řečice, by contrast, you can see Hajanský rybník and Velký kámen. You can therefore choose between two kinds of landscape experience: views of several landscape features from the viewpoint, or specific named destinations along the old road.

One of the cycling routes from Blatná runs through the centre of Hajany. A white stork nesting site can be seen at house No. 8. There is a children's playground behind the bus stop. The cycling route indicates a path through the centre, while the house number and bus stop help you find two specific locations.

Hajanská hospoda serves hot meals. This is a specific option if you would like to include a meal in the village alongside the cultural and landscape attractions when planning your stay. This leaves you with two practical choices to make: include a gallery visit only by prior telephone arrangement, and, when planning your landscape viewing, choose between views of pastures, meadows and forests from the viewpoint and the two named destinations along the old road.
