Hadravova Rosička lies at an elevation of 529 m on the gently sloping hillside of the rocky Brádla hill. The surrounding area is shaped by fields, meadows, forests and numerous ponds. Here, a specific local history meets a rural landscape. When choosing a destination, you can focus on different things: walks in the surrounding area, the history of the Chapel of Saint John the Baptist, or the Váholezení competition. These themes need not be squeezed into a fixed sightseeing itinerary; instead, they can help you choose the kind of experience you are looking for on your trip.

Landscape and activities

Fields and meadows, forests and ponds describe the surroundings from several perspectives: open spaces, wooded areas and water all form part of the landscape. Walks are a way to explore the area, offering an outdoor activity alongside the cultural sights in the village. Water sports are also possible nearby. This offers a different focus from walking and another way to experience the landscape. When planning your stay, you can decide whether walks, water sports or local history matter most to you.

The combination of the hillside setting and ponds gives the description of the village two dimensions: Brádla defines the village’s position on the hillside, while the ponds are part of the surrounding area and also become part of a specific challenge during Váholezení. The landscape and a local event are thus connected, although they need not be the same experience.

The chapel and local history

The founding of Hadravova Rosička is dated to between 1450 and 1500. A chapel was built in Hadravova Rosička in 1860: the Chapel of Saint John the Baptist. It was renovated in the 1990s. This places the village’s founding period alongside specific construction and renovation dates for a named religious building. For visitors interested in culture, the chapel offers a point of interest in its own right, alongside the history of the village and its rural surroundings.

Váholezení at the middle pond

The Váholezení competition offers a particularly specific insight into a local event. In 2025, it was held in Hadravova Rosička for the eleventh time, at the site of the former weigh station by the middle pond. Participants had to cross the wall of the former weigh station above the pond as quickly as possible without falling into the water. The pond is therefore not merely part of the landscape; it is directly involved in the challenge. After the competition, refreshments and light snacks were served in front of the weigh station for participants and spectators. This provision of refreshments was specific to the 2025 edition. If you plan to travel for the competition, check dates for a later visit separately.

Another point of interest nearby

The Mlýnek water mill, also known as Kolářův mlýn, lies about two kilometres south of Hadravova Rosička. Both names refer to the same mill. While Brádla describes the village’s position on the hillside, the mill provides an approximate reference point to the south. These different spatial details help distinguish the village’s location from a named place in its surroundings. Together with the history of the chapel and the ponds, they create a picture that takes account of both specific local features and the rural surroundings.
