Radotín combines a measured educational hiking trail with geological sites and cultural activities. The Naučná stezka Radotín provides specific information on its length, elevation gain and stops; Radotínské skály is known for fossils and Palaeozoic rocks. This means you can weigh up whether hiking, geological features, or cultural and community activities should shape your stay when choosing your destination.

Landscape and Geology

Radotín lies on the left bank of the Berounka and on the boundary between Český kras and the Prague Basin. At the confluence, the Radotínský potok meets the Berounka. This location gives the surrounding area a distinct landscape: the Prague Basin and Český kras meet here, while the stream flows into the Berounka.

Radotínské skály is a protected geological site featuring an exposed profile of Palaeozoic sediments and rocky steppe communities. Fossil sites include brachiopods, bivalves, gastropods, cephalopods, trilobites and graptolites. The geological focus is clearly defined: in addition to the sediments, both the variety of fossil groups and the rocky steppes shape the character of the site.

Hiking Trails and Navigation

The Naučná stezka Radotín has 18 stops, is 11 kilometres long and has an elevation gain of 330 metres. In 2026, an additional 19 interactive stops were added between points 1 and 10. The route length and elevation gain refer to the trail; the update concerns a specific section. Check the current route before setting out, as future changes may affect the route details.

Radotínské údolí Nature Reserve is open to the public without restriction. It is open to the public without restriction; the easiest access is via the red hiking trail along the Radotínský potok from Cikánka (Maškův mlýn), through Řeporyj, towards Choteč. If you are heading to this protected area, follow this approach. Even though public access is unrestricted, it is advisable to check the applicable protected-area rules before your visit.

Cultural Activities and Local Impressions

Kulturně komunitní centrum Koruna offers educational, cultural, community and exercise activities for all age groups. Its outdoor area includes a large courtyard with a stage and pavilion, used for outdoor activities. Alongside its landscape and geological attractions, Radotín therefore also offers a cultural and community centre as a distinct point of interest.

At Havelské posvícení 2025, the market offered homemade jams, cheese, sausages, honey and baked specialities. Vendors and foods vary from year to year, so this selection relates to the 2025 edition and should not be taken as a permanent list of market offerings. For travel planning, this highlights the difference between landscape features described as enduring and a specific market offering tied to a particular year.
