Dolce lies at an altitude of 452 metres in a deep valley between the hills of Hůrka and Jindřín and the Dolecký les forest. The distinctive Jindřín Hill rises southwest of the village, reaching an altitude of 535 metres. You can explore Dolce through several local themes: archaeological traces are visible on the hill, historic sites include chapels and a war memorial, and the Čertovo břemeno nature trail is an approximately 15-kilometre circular route through the region. Sport fishing at Dolcký rybník adds another activity. You can therefore choose the focus of your visit based on the landscape, local history, outdoor activities or fishing.

Jindřín Hill: Landscape and Archaeological Traces

Jindřín Hill is a distinctive landmark in the landscape and also a place with a history. Remains of a former fortified hilltop settlement are still visible on the hill. The site has been protected as a monument since 3 May 1958. The stated elevation and the surviving remains show two different sides of Jindřín Hill: it shapes the landscape described here while also preserving traces of earlier settlement. For visitors interested in archaeological history, this offers a specific point of interest alongside Dolce’s valley setting.

Chapels and Remembrance

The Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua was built at the end of 1930 and fully completed in 1934. Its construction history offers a different historical perspective from the remains of the former hilltop settlement on Jindřín Hill. Another chapel is dedicated to Saint Hubert. It is located in Dolcko forest and is the fifth stop on the Čertovo břemeno nature trail. It is also the trail stop closest to the municipality of Dolce. The circular route thus has a named landmark for anyone interested not only in its length but also in a specific place along the way.

The war memorial in Dolce commemorates 14 men from the village who did not return from the First World War. 26 June 1921 was set as the date for the memorial’s delivery. The commemoration of the men and the scheduled delivery date are two different aspects of its history: the memorial preserves a local act of remembrance, while the date marks a planned step in its creation.

Circular Route and Fishing

The Čertovo břemeno nature trail is an approximately 15-kilometre circular route that you can complete on foot or by bicycle. The approximate route length and the two stated ways of getting around give you a clear basis for choosing between a walk and a bike ride. The Chapel of Saint Hubert is the trail’s fifth stop and is located in Dolcko forest. If you choose the nature trail as the focus of your visit, you will find not only the circular route itself but also a specific place associated with it.

Since 2017, Dolcký rybník has served as a sport-fishing pond for catching trophy fish. It has up to 50 fishing spots, and fishing follows the “catch and release” principle. Fishing therefore offers a distinct focus alongside the circular route. If you are planning a fishing trip, check the current fishing regulations in advance.

A Regular Sales Date

On the first Saturday of every month, from 3 to 5 p.m., Ing. Douděra sells his products directly at Anežčin Dvůr in Dolce. If you would like to plan your visit around this date, confirm it in advance. This allows you to include the sale as a fixed point in your plans without confusing it with the separately described nature and history themes.
