In Třemešné, hiking trails wind through a wooded landscape, while the village’s history is reflected in the village green and traces of the former chapel. When planning an overnight stay, first consider whether hiking, cycling, or local history will shape your visit. The routes vary in length and course; the village green and Kamenný vrch add to the picture of settlement and landscape history.

Choose a Hiking Trail or Cycling Route by Distance

The green-marked, 21 km hiking route from Třemešné to Přimda and Staré Sedliště runs through the forest between Třemešné and Přimda. At about 15.5 km, the Milíře nature trail is shorter; it connects to the blue-marked hiking trail, which leads back to Třemešné. The Vodní mlýny nature trail is about 11.5 km long. It runs parallel to the blue-marked hiking route as far as Svatá Apolena, then turns onto the road to Málkov and follows Bezděkovský potok back to Třemešné.

Cyclists can choose the Třemešné–Diana–Třemešné route, an option about 30.5 km long. The walking routes mentioned range from about 11.5 to 21 km; the longer cycling loop is another option. This makes it easy to compare the routes by distance and mode of travel. Check the conditions on the route you choose before setting out.

Village Green, Chapel, and Landscape

Třemešné lies in a wooded landscape along the Domažlice–Tachov railway line. As a Chod village, it was laid out around an irregularly rectangular village green. A noteworthy farmhouse stands on the green between the inn and the railway station; a gallery has been built above its entrance. The village green and farmhouse thus point to two specific features of the village: its settlement layout and the gallery above the entrance.

The uncovered foundations and floor are reminders of the former Chapel of the Virgin Mary (Panny Marie). The outline of the chapel has been marked for tourists and other visitors. These architectural traces add another layer of local history to the story of the village green.

Kamenný vrch, at 738 m, lies two kilometres southwest of Třemešné. Its summit is flat and dotted with rocky crags; the views are limited. Below the summit, about halfway up the slope, are old charcoal-burning platforms: prepared areas where charcoal was made from wood. This mountain thus brings together distinctive landscape features and traces of earlier charcoal production.
