Visitors choosing Hrubá Voda for a stay can choose between leisure activities at the resort and trails focused on nature, learning and play. The activities differ considerably in form: the bobsled track, treetop course and educational trails each have a different focus. Hrad Hluboký also adds a historical aspect to the range of topics. This makes it easy to plan around whether a track, course, nature observation or history should take priority.
Bobsled Track and Treetop Course
The bobsled track at the Hrubá Voda Resort is listed as a year-round activity; its actual operating conditions may change. The total track length is 851 m, and speeds of up to 40 km/h are possible. The two figures refer to different aspects: the track’s length and its possible top speed. By contrast, the Kamzíkova stezka is a treetop course with climbing elements, slides and a rope maze 13 m above the ground. This allows visitors to compare two different types of activity: a track with a stated length and possible speed, and a course whose height and features define its character.
Nature and Educational Trails
The Naučná stezka skřítka Hrubíka is over 1 km long, accessible year-round and offers seven learning and play stations for families with children. Its theme is the surrounding natural environment, the forest, and local fauna and flora. This combination gives the trail a clear focus on nature and learning. The educational trail in Hrubíkův lesopark has a different profile: it is 2 km long and descends to a water park at the end. In the bird area, children can observe birds in the treetops from wooden viewing points. The activities therefore also differ in focus: learning and play stations and nature themes on the Naučná stezka, and an educational trail with a water park and birdwatching in the Lesopark.
Play Areas and Mining Heritage
The Dětský park skřítka Hrubíka includes a water pool for play, a dragon-themed playground and an underground maze. The maze consists of two tunnels named Klára and Libor and connects with the local mining heritage. Alongside the learning and play stations on the Naučná stezka and birdwatching in the Lesopark, there are also these additional, specifically named play activities to choose from. The different focuses can be a helpful guide for families with children when planning their visit.
Landscape and History
At the southern edge of Hrubá Voda, the Údolí Bystřice area also extends into the left-hand part of the Bystřice Valley. For travellers interested in nature, this is a specific landscape feature to explore alongside the nature themes of the trails.
Hrad Hluboký is a medieval castle ruin. It was damaged during the siege of 1426 and has been described as abandoned since 1447. This sequence links two different aspects of its history: the damage sustained during the siege and its later description as abandoned.
