Peřimov can be explored through its landscape and architectural history: the open valley, the Jizera, the protected star quartz and several notable buildings each offer a different focus. If you are looking for a holiday apartment, first decide whether you are mainly interested in nature, architecture or cycling.
Valley, stream and river
Peřimov lies on the Olšina stream at the foot of the Krkonoše Mountains, in a long, open valley west of Jilemnice. The lower part of the cadastral area is bounded along its western edge by the Jizera. South of Peřimov lies Hrobka Hill, which rises to 509 m. The stream, valley, riverbank and hill offer different points of reference for navigating the landscape: the Olšina is the local stream, the Jizera marks the western edge of the lower cadastral area, and Hrobka is a named high point south of the village.
Strážník and star quartz
The Strážník site lies 2 km southwest of Peřimov. It includes both the area of the National Nature Monument and the rocks at the summit of Strážník. The Nature Monument protects a unique crystallographic form of quartz known as star quartz. This makes it a natural-history point of interest alongside the landscape features of the valley and Hrobka Hill. Access is important when planning a visit: Strážník can be reached by car only with an entry permit; the access road comes to within about 250 m of the site. Confirm this access requirement before your visit.
Bridge and architectural heritage
The road bridge over the Jizera is a reinforced-concrete bridge dating from 1912. It connects the two riverbanks in the cadastral areas of Peřimov and Dolní Sytová. Its construction date and material give the bridge a clear historical significance. The local cultural monuments can also be distinguished by their individual features.
Chalupa čp. 16 is a listed cultural monument and a timber-framed building. Alterations at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s changed its original character; a large living room and a finely crafted gable ornament have been preserved. The changes to the house and its surviving details are both part of its story. The “Na Skalí” farmstead, čp. 76, was built in 1847 on steeply sloping ground above the local stream. It is considered a fine example of folk architecture of the developed chamber-and-stable type. The construction date and the typological designation convey different aspects: its historical period and its architectural form.
Another perspective is offered by the former Lukšův mlýn, a technical heritage site on the Peřimovský potok along the road between Peřimov and Mříčná. The building displays features of late Neoclassicism from the mid-19th century. Together, these sites offer different ways to explore local history: bridge construction, residential and farmstead architecture, and a technical heritage site.
Cycling route and accommodation priorities
Cycle Route 4173 passes through Peřimov and Mříčná. Check the route number before setting off. This gives you three distinct priorities to consider when planning your trip: architectural heritage in the village, the Strážník Nature Monument with its special access requirement, and cycling on the named route. Focus your search for a holiday apartment on whichever of these themes matters most for your stay. Be sure to take the access to Strážník and the route number into account in your specific plans.
