A cultural monument, an 18th-century wooden house and a literary connection give Horení Paseky several cultural points of interest. They are joined by the “Po stopách Karoliny Světlé” nature trail, sections of the Žitavská trasa and the Hoření Paseky outdoor pool. You can plan your trip around different interests: architecture and literature, a cultural and historical circular route, individual stages of a longer trail or time at the outdoor pool.

Architecture and Literature

Chalupa Ve Smrčí at Hoření Paseky No. 1 is a cultural monument. The wooden house Ve smrčí No. 1 dates from the 18th century and has a bell tower and a wooden clock. For architecture enthusiasts, this brings together protected-monument status, a historical date and two specific architectural features. You can focus your architectural visit on the building’s age and design.

Hoření Paseky is also the setting of the novel “Kantůrčice.” The literary connection draws attention to the village as a setting, while the house’s features put specific buildings in the spotlight. This offers different perspectives for cultural trips: the village in its literary context, or the history and design of individual houses.

Circular Route and Trail Sections

The “Po stopách Karoliny Světlé” nature trail forms a circular route through Světlá pod Ještědem, Hoření Paseky, Dolení Paseky, Rozstání and Horka. It introduces places connected with the life and work of Karolina Světlá and the local historical context. The route brings together several local connections under a shared cultural and historical theme, setting it apart from a visit focused on a single building.

The Žitavská trasa runs 149 km from Zittau to Prague. A 5.6 km section leads from Křižanské sedlo to Hoření Paseky–Kantůrčice; the next section to Rozstání is 1.9 km long. The first section is almost three times as long as the next. Taken in sequence, the two sections add up to 7.5 km to Rozstání. This lets you compare the cultural and historical circular route with specific sections of a longer trail. Check trail conditions and signage before setting out.

Outdoor Pool and Views

The Hoření Paseky outdoor pool has grassy sunbathing and recreation areas. From there, you can enjoy views of the Máchův kraj and the Bohemian Central Highlands. These named landscape regions give this place for relaxation a distinct focus alongside architecture, literature and trails.

The options also differ when planning your day: the nature trail is a cultural and historical circular route, the Žitavská trasa offers specific sections to choose from, and the outdoor pool has grassy areas and scenic views. If you plan to visit the outdoor pool during your stay, check its opening hours in advance. This will help you plan your visit based on the actual arrangements, without combining the different options into a fixed route.
