In Tüppelsgrün (Děpoltovice), village history meets activities centered on water and exercise. Cultural points of interest include a chapel, the Baroque Church of St. Michael the Archangel, the so-called New Castle and a memorial to the victims of the First World War. There is also a nature trail to the natural swimming area, a cycling route through the area, and opportunities for swimming and horse riding. You can choose which of these aspects shapes your stay according to your interests: the historic buildings tell a different story of the village than the trails and activities around the water.

Architectural History and Memorial Sites

In the village center, on the local road on the left bank of the Vitický potok, stands the chapel, built as early as the 18th century in front of the half-timbered house No. 55, “At the Tailor’s.” Another historic stop is the present-day Baroque Church of St. Michael the Archangel. It was built in 1786–1787 and is occasionally open to visitors; check access before your visit.

The so-called New Castle (Nový zámek) was probably built in the second half of the 17th century. By 1843, a north wing in the Empire style had been added. This sequence shows that the complex was expanded over an extended period. The grounds are accessible, but the buildings are in a dilapidated condition. Therefore, do not plan to visit the interiors, and check the conditions on site.

The memorial to the victims of the First World War was erected in 1930 and fully reconstructed in the summer of 2015. It commemorates 29 fallen soldiers from Děpoltovice and 11 from Lužec. These two figures record the memorial’s connection to both villages. The memorial is freely accessible; as access conditions may change, it is advisable to check them before your visit.

Nature Trail, Cycling Route and Time by the Water

The “Water in the Landscape and Nature Around Us” nature trail leads from the center of Děpoltovice to the local natural swimming area. This clearly identifies both the start and destination of the trail. Cycling route No. 2012 offers a different way to explore the area: it passes through the Děpoltovice area, running from Nová Role to Děpoltovický rybník, on to Velký rybník and then to Hroznětín. Within Děpoltovice, its southern section passes through the grounds of the agricultural estate and the castle, before continuing toward Ruprechtov. The difference is practical: the nature trail connects the village center with the natural swimming area, while the cycling route links several named places and local sections.

Děpoltovický rybník is used for swimming in a natural setting. Its beaches are sandy and grassy; conditions can change, so check them before traveling there to swim. If you are looking for a different kind of activity, Pegas in Děpoltovice offers rides and riding lessons. Confirm availability before your trip. The options can thus be distinguished by what they offer: a set route to the natural swimming area, a cycling route with several named points, time swimming in the pond, or a horse-riding activity.

Tüppelsgrün offers several specific starting points for choosing when to visit and what to focus on: architectural history and remembrance, trails through the area, or time by the water. You can plan around whichever of these aspects you would like to explore more closely.
